Vista Patchguard: A Waste of Time?

ridiculous article "Anyone who´s relatively familiar with Microsoft knows that Microsoft will easily bypass the Vista Patchguard system when implementing its own line of security products, while leaving their competitors in the dust." it's not bypassing, it's microsofts secret locked box and they own the key, to do with as they will. and mcafee and symantec 'properly protect a vista machine' they haven't been able to protect any previous generation with their bloated crapware, they've even opened up a few attack vectors of their own. I doubt there new products are much more than a recompile of the same rubbish, hence their annoyance with MS as they're having to work a little.

100% agreed. I stopped getting Symantec products when goback one day decided to cause a bluescreen on every bootup and made my HD unaccessable. I then heard its a common (!!!) bug which has been there for quite a few years and the only thing I can do is reformat my HD. Oh joy! not to mention all their programs top priority seems to be to eat as many resources as possible. F U Symantec!
