PDF Champ's Watermark Tool Adds Adjustable Opacity

This is a discussion about PDF Champ's Watermark Tool Adds Adjustable Opacity in the General Software category; PDF Champ has just introduced a Watermark PDF Tool with adjustable opacity. If you've ever used a heavy-handed tool to watermark a document, you know the way it looks: a bold, solid-coloured stamp right on top of the text, making the page harder to read than just labeled.

PDF Champ has just introduced a Watermark PDF Tool with adjustable opacity. If you've ever used a heavy-handed tool to watermark a document, you know the way it looks: a bold, solid-coloured stamp right on top of the text, making the page harder to read than just labeled. Instead, the watermarking tool in PDF Champ takes a different approach, allowing users to change the transparency of the text watermark to a level that is appropriate for the document.

The Tool applies a text watermark CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, INTERNAL USE ONLY or a custom label to all pages of a PDF at once. The difference is in the control next to the watermark text field. You can set the opacity to anywhere from 0.1 to 1, and you can change the font size so that the label can be faint enough to get out of the way or bold enough to be unmistakable.

That range is more important than it sounds. For an internal draft, where you want to keep it readable while it's still being reviewed, a faint low-opacity watermark works well. For something that should never be mistaken for a final version, like a document that's being shared outside a company for the first time, a more solid, high-opacity mark makes more sense. Rather than applying one fixed style to all files, the tool leaves that judgement call to whoever is marking the file. Visit here: https://www.pdfchamp.com/online/watermark-pdf/

The watermarking is added directly in the browser, page by page, without uploading the file anywhere. A user drops a PDF, types the watermark text, changes size and opacity and downloads the finished file in seconds - with the same label applied consistently across the whole document rather than having to repeat it page-by-page.

"Watermarking sounds like a simple feature until the label itself gets in the way of reading the page,"  said a PDF Champ Product representative. "By providing people the ability to control how strong the watermark looks, it can do its job- flagging a document as a draft or confidential- without making every page hard to read."

Besides the watermark tool, PDF Champ offers more than 20 free online utilities for merging, splitting, compressing, and converting PDF files. It's free, requires no account, and works in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari.
