VSCodium 1.140.06880 Removes Copilot, Claude, and Codex AI SDKs
VSCodium 1.140.06880 by maintainer @daiyam, strips GitHub Copilot's, Anthropic's Claude Agent, and OpenAI's Codex SDKs straight out of the VS Code source tree. The community build tracks Microsoft's VS Code 1.140.0 milestone but does the opposite of what Microsoft is doing, deleting the AI toolchains entirely rather than bolting them on. It remains telemetry-free and MIT-licensed, though it uses the open-source Open VSX registry and sacrifices the agent features its own patches already dial back. You can still install Copilot or Codex manually, but the default build is now structurally incapable of auto-provisioning them.
