I think you mean "Whoever is making these posts can't forsee past the tip of their nose." What is wrong with Microsoft having validation that you actually bought the product in order to get certain updates from them? If you bought it you have nothing to worry about. If you didn't what's the problem? Why should they support you. If you robbed a car from a local showroom would you then expect them to then fix something in the car free if you returned a few weeks later? No, of course not.

The problem I have with using genuine microshaft windows xp is that I actually bought the damn thing but when I went to change hardware it demanded that I reactivate, this went on for about a year and I have been using the pirate version ever since because it just wasn't worth the hassle anymore, currently I am running dual boot with linux for the sole purpose of being able to play Call of duty and a few multimedia apps, nothing more, I use linux for 90% of my computing.
