Any self-respecting modder will sleeve his wires. It's really that simple. The problem is, it can be one hell of a pain in the ass to do. So when cable sleeving kits come out, a lot of people flock to them in the hopes of saving themselves some grief. Frankly, they are useful not just for power supply units, but also for any other wires you need to run in your box; fans, front panel case wires (power/reset/activity LEDs), etc. The benefits are not just aesthetic, however. Sleeving your cables also allows air to flow better in your case.
Socket 754 Roundup: Comparing Generation 2
AnandTech have posted their roundup of AMD's Socket 754 with boards from Abit, Chaintech, Epox, Gigabyte, and MSI.
The second generation chipsets for Athlon 64 represent a genuine improvement in features, flexibility, and performance for AMD's flagship processors. As you saw in our chipset review, the nForce3-250 nVidia has added the features to bring their nF3 to the competitive edge of Athlon 64 chipsets. The HyperTransport speed, which was widely criticized on the 150 chipset, is now 800 or 1000 depending on the chipset version.

ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 vs NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700
Hexus have thrown up their latest review of mobile graphics solutions from Nvidia and ATI! Here's a snip.
Alienware were kind enough to send two swappable cores with the sample: ATI's Mobility Radeon 9600 and NVIDIA's GeForce FX Go5700. Evaluating mobile graphics parts is slightly more involved than evaluating desktop hardware, due to imposed form factor limitations. For instance, taking into account power saving schemes available in each driver is prudent, but something never exposed or tested in a desktop accelerator.

Thermalright has done it again! This time in 120mm!
If you want to be competitive in today's heatsink market, there are two "H" words that are fast becoming a must for maximum performance. One is Huge. The other is Heatpipe. Today, we're taking an advance look at a heatsink that has both of the "H" words in spades. The XP-120 is Thermalright's newest heatsink for Intel P4 systems, and looks primed to become the latest in a long line of winners from Thermalright." Read More...
Antec P160 @ Hardware12v
Antec has changed of style and left of band its line of simplicity that as much fame gave him, a change that to all they cannot like, ... without a doubt some the inner distribution of this box is excellent. The distribution of the frontal also very is obtained, with the revolving panel vertically, in whom it by hand has all the external connections and the value of temperature that detect the 2 sensors.

NEC ND-2510A Review
TrustedReviews have thrown up the first review I've seen of the NEC ND-2510A - Dual Layer DVD writer!
Obviously with any major format change, compatibility is paramount. The properties and reflectivity of a DVD+R DL really need to be as close to a pressed DVD-9 disc as possible in order to achieve maximum compatibility. Optical media giant Verbatim is well aware of how important compatibility is, with the company?s Optical Director Ryuhei Sato stating ?Compatibility was a top priority in developing our Double Layer media.?

Danger Den P4 RBX Power kit Review @ Madshrimps
Danger Den's RBX Power kit does exactly what it promises, it gives the end-user the best water cooling gear out there, all components are of high quality and the performance is high even when running the pump and fan at lower voltages.
Asetek Waterchill Antartica system @ DriverHeaven
The idle temperatures of the system were similar on the CPU however the X800 was a full 10 degrees cooler which was an excellent result. When under heavy graphical load (Farcry) the advantages of watercooling become even clearer, where the standard air cooling of the X800 shows a temp of 62 degrees the Asetek unit keeps the system cooler than air was at idle temps. Under heavy CPU load (encoding) the air-cooling is nearly 10 degrees higher than the Asetek 12v.
Chenming 602 ATX Case Review
A PC case is not something that everyone upgrades every six months. Many users want to invest in a good case and not worry about upgrading it every six months or so. A "good" case must have active cooling methods, style, enough space for components, and refined finish. The case market is full of various colors, styles, and looks to suit almost everyone.
Athlon 64 3800+ Socket 939
X86 Secrets have thrown up a review of AMD's all new Athlon 64 3800+ with 939 pins! as the sites in French here's a translation by Google.
After several months of waiting, Athlon 64 of new generation is finally there! One will not speak here about smoothness of engraving as it is generally the case, but of functionalities. Indeed, if Athlon 64 engraved in 90 Nm are not envisaged in mass before the end of this year or the beginning of the next year, range AMD64 reaches a new stage of its development: the passage to Socket 939.

X-Micro EVA MP3 Player Review
Hardware Pacers has posted a review on the X-Micro EVA MP3 Player. Here is a snippet:
"When the first jump drives for USB were released, people were excited finally to carry durable storage. As time passed and storage space prices have decreased, something else had to be added to the jump drives such as MP3 functionality. Thought MP3 players have come a long way, in the beginning they were size of CD players, today as we can see they are no more than four inches in length. Even with this small size, X-Micro managed to add a great variety of features such as LCD screen, voice recorder, and equalizer."

Visiontek Radeon X800 Pro @ DriverHeaven
Visiontek have been selling ATI boards for quite a while now and they offer a lifetime replacement warranty and toll free tech support with minumum "on hold" times. I know a few of their staff and they are active on their own support forum helping users with any issues they have - you can also see Visionteks Technical support manager Michael Murphy on Driverheaven from time to time helping users with problems. In my experience its quite rare for a company to devote so much time to the end user, and this could well be a deciding factor when purchasing an X800 board
Plextor PX-712A DVD±RW review @ CD Freaks.com
CD Freaks has put up a review of the much anticipated PX-712A drive. This is one of the few 12x drives that will be released and the challenge for Plextor is to write 12x on 8x media as 12x is not supported by the DVD+RW Alliance and no manufacturers will release 12x media besides Plextor itself. But the drive seems to be doing this very well and offers besides speed a lot more intresting features. Check out the entire review at CD Freaks.com
XGI Volari Duo V8 Ultra 256MB
Hexus.net have thrown up their review of XGI Volari Duo V8 Ultra 256MB video card!
Technologically-speaking, the Volari Duo V8 is an up-to-date design. Each chip contains 8 rendering pipelines that make it into a 16-pipe design. That's GeForce6 and Radeon X800 XT country, folks. Add in the 350MHz clock speed and you have a potential fillrate of 5.6GPixels/s. Compare that with the Radeon 9800 XT's 3.296GTexel/s. 2 chips dictate a dual 128bit memory controller. To that end, XGI uses 900MHz-rated DDRII modules. Another quick calculation reveals potential bandwidth of 28.8GB/s. Potential is the key word in the last two sentences. Hitting the maximum limit is difficult for a first-time design.
