Thermaltake V1 CPU Cooler Review

Published by Regeneration 0

Don't let the odd appearance fool you. It may look strange, but the V1 performs just as well as other air coolers that have a more traditional round or square shape. It works on the idea that heat rises, and it makes sense to apply that to a CPU air cooler by using a vertically aligned fan and copper fins to move heat up and out. I also can't say enough about how easy the installation was; it was by far the quickest install of a cooler I've done in a couple years.

MSI Radeon HD 2900XT Review

Published by Regeneration 0

The initial drivers were nothing to get excited about and made the performance overall look pretty ordinary. The biggest problem though is that it seems most people have already made up their minds - I will not lie to you, I had. I honestly saw the initial test results and thought the card was a joke considering how long we had been waiting for it.

Logitech Harmony 890 Pro Advanced Universal Remote

Published by Newsfactory 0

Since none of the manufacturers filling my entertainment system shelves can offer more than simple one-device remotes, I was in need of either a deluxe remote control caddy with labeled organizer, or I would need to get a universal remote control and take a day off work just to program it. It was a quest for the unobtainable, a journey for the unthinkable; I wanted to replace a collection of remote controls with... One Remote to Control Them All. Logitech heard my cries of despair, and presented the Harmony 890 Pro Advanced Universal Remote Control to save the day.

The Logitech Harmony 890 Universal Remote Review

Published by Regeneration 1

It seems that every so often my Home Theater setup is spawning new remotes and I still have the memories of searching for and then entering the codes for all those components. Although my remote collection is growing quickly with more advanced additions they don?t seem to be simplifying the process a bit: with remotes scattered everywhere, just finding the right one sometimes is a difficult task and becomes something close to finding a hidden Easter egg. But when you do know what remote goes with what component it would come down to deciphering cryptic symbols on a myriad of buttons.

Noctua NH-U12F HSF Review

Published by Regeneration 0

Earlier this month DV Hardware already reviewed Noctua's 80mm and 120mm fans and they were amazed how silent they were. The exact same 120mm fan is included in the NH-U12F bundle so even before they unpacked the product they already knew this would be a pretty quiet cooling solution. But being quiet isn't enough to be a good CPU cooler, the cooling performance also matters greatly. Read on to find out more about the Noctua NH-U12F's cooling performance.

Sparkle GeForce 8600 GTS Review

Published by Regeneration 0

After we saw the quite successful introduction of the GeForce 8800 series, it is time to take a step back and look at what the mid-range segment hat to offer. This is again the playground of NVIDIA with their newly released GeForce 8600 series, bringing the DirectX 10 technology to all who couldn't afford the high-end version. Actually, NVIDIA did launch more then one mid-range card, but the most in favor is certainly the GeForce 8600 GTS edition. Sparkle actually had their card ready from day one, although all just following the reference design.

VIZO eSATA Uranus & Saturno HDD Enclosures

Published by Regeneration 0

We are in the age of mobile data and removable media. You can see it all around us. Most industry professionals keep a portable computing device in close company, and nearly everyone carries a USB flash drive on them. Cell phones double as MP3 players, and MP3 players double as personal video devices. It seems progressive then that external hard disks are quickly becoming something more of a personal carry item as their size grows smaller. Conversely, some stylish trends have managed to give a new look to the old ideas. So whether you are a mobile power user with compact storage needs, or discerning office user who enjoys a stylish environment, VIZO offers products to satisfy both needs, and Benchmark Reviews helps you to pick the best fit between their eSATA Uranus or the SATA Saturno.

Foxconn GeForce 8600 GT OC Review

Published by Regeneration 0

The GeForce 8600 GT ships at 540MHz for the core and 700MHz for the memory with a 128-bit memory interface, however the Foxconn card we are looking at is one of their overclocked editions shipping in the box with a higher core speed of 560MHz and a memory speed of 780MHz. A very nice bump indeed of 20MHz for the core and 80MHz for the memory. We were able to push things a little further to 605MHz for the core and 810MHz for the memory clockspeed.

GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB Round Up

Published by Regeneration 0

The GeForce 8800GTS 320 MB is also in a great position when considering there is no immediate threat to it from AMD. Although the Radeon X2900HD XT is out, the card is targeted to compete with the GeForce 8800GTS 640 MB version, and price as such with an MSRP of US$ 400. From our experience, the GeForce 8800GTS 320 MB offer about the same performance as the 640 MB version, except in high resolutions and in certain games where memory capacity is extremely important.

Cyber Snipa Scout Webcam Review

Published by Regeneration 0

The Cyber Snipa brand is all about PC gaming and their peripherals aim to be high quality while keeping prices reasonable. Enter the Scout webcam. Now while webcams typically are not at the forefront of a gamer's arsenal, motion-tracking games that put a person directly into the action are becoming more common as well as in-game video chat with other players. Security is very important these days also and webcams hooked to computer systems allow surveillance video to be captured and then uploaded to a website or emailed. I think it's pretty safe to assume that webcams are here to stay and their presence will likely continue to increase for both entertainment and practical purposes. Let's take a look at the Scout and see what it has to offer.

I know people are thinking ?why would you want to get 1GB nowadays?? and ?why get DDR2 when DDR3 is about to release?? Well to start off the current prices are about as low as they can get, DDR2 will not disappear for a while.

Casebuy LCD EZ Power Supply Tester 3 Review

When I first began repairing computers, power supply units caused me the most problems. When a PSU begins to fail, or is faulty out of the box, it is sometimes difficult to determine because the symptoms are similar to other faulty hardware components. One of the best investments I ever made was the PSU tester; until now. CaseBuy now offers a digital LCD display on the EZ Power Supply Tester III. Benchmark Reviews shows you just how important this tool is, and why every technician, overclocker, enthusiast, and even gamers could benefit.
