It's a good time to be James Bond. It's the suave superspy's 40th movie anniversary this year, and this winter's upcoming release of Die Another Day will be the 20th film that's featured the debonair MI6 secret agent. Electronic Arts and MGM are commemorating this momentous occasion by releasing a quartet of 007 games later this year, one for every major platform. And while Bond is no stranger to consoles--developers have been constantly trying to match the level of commercial and critical success received by Rare's GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64--EA's James Bond 007: NightFire will mark Bond's first appearance on the PC.

The moment we have all waited for as finally come. EALA has launched their first announcement about Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Expansion Pack with 20 new British and Russian weapons.

Players will assume the role of a new character, Sgt. Jack Barns, who's an OSS operative sent into Normandy with the 101st Airborne on the night before the D-Day invasion. The game will start with Barns parachuting from the back of a C-47 under the cover of darkness.

All UT server admins are encouraged to install this replacement IpDrv.dll.

Palestar Inc. and Playnet.com announced Friday that a free trial for the massively multiplayer online game DarkSpace will begin July 15th, 12:00CST and run until July 22nd, 12:00CST. During the free trial, ALL DarkSpace account holders will be able to play with no limitations, and will have the ability to gain prestige, rank, and join all available servers.

Activision the released a new multiplayer SDK for Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, bringing this toolset in sync with the recent version 1.01 game patch. As before, the SDK includes editors and tools, game code, documentation and a few samples, and some of the content also applies to single-player modding.

Just spotted that Mark Rein @ Epic Games Inc has posted an update to let you know what they'rw up to.

Sorry for not being around much lately with updates. I'm working on a whole bunch of things that need to be done before UT2003 (the full version, not the demo) can go out the door including, but not limited to: 1. Trying to close some deals that will hold special interest to UT2003 mod makers. Once these are done there will be some cool announcements. 2. Working closely with video card companies who are coming out with awesome new products this fall and want to use UT2003 to show them off.

The promised patch for America's Army: Operations Recon is now available, updating this tactical FPS by the U.S. Army to version 1.0.1. This release addresses "client and server-side flooding issues," the "Sniper Rifle bug from random weapon selection" and more, as well as adding "Community Game Server Support" and an "Admin Spectator Mode and the full Recon download has now been updated to version 1.0.1 as well.

Bluesnews.com says that according to this thread in the JediKnightII.net forums , the newly available version 1.04 dedicated servers for Jedi Outcast (story) may appear to remain running at v1.03. The solution is, after patching the full Windows game, to copy the new 'assets5.pk3' file into your servers 'base' directory, something that isn't clearly mentioned in the servers' readme files.

The new patch for Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast v1.04 is out. There are many changes and it weighs in at 9Mbyte.

The following changes and improvements are made to Midtown Madness when you install the update:

Vehicle tuning parameters hard-coded to prevent unfair changes. Once the patch is installed, the tuning parameters for each of the featured vehicles are hard-coded to prevent ?illegal? tweaks that may give one player an unfair advantage over his/her opponents.

Locked vehicles not available for multiplayer games. Once the patch is installed, you will not be able to select otherwise locked vehicles when joining a multiplayer session.

Bioware has released a new patch for Neverwinter Nights which updates the game to version 1.20. Bioware recommends that you update the game by selecting 'Update' from the Neverwinter Nights game launcher.

dreamCatcher sends along the promised english playable demo of Auryn Quest, superseding the earlier german demo of this first-person platform action adventure by Discreet Monsters. The demo includes an intro movie for the game's story and allows you to try out the same section of the full game as before, called "Gaya's Lava Dungeon."

3dgpu.com have got their hands on 10 screenshots of a new game called LOCK ON. I got to say the graphics look very cool.

There is a new patch for Black & White, upgrading Lionhead's 3D god-playing game to version 1.20. This release brings the promised multiplayer and clan support, with new winning conditions, a points ranking system, the clan support system and more, although the ranking system won't be activated until July 13.

A playable demo of The Italian Job is now available, allowing you to try out this arcade racing game by Pixelogic Games that's based on the classic Michael Caine movie. This demo features the Jump Test Challenge, the full London test drive mission, and part of the Turin Getaway mission.
