Half-Life 2 at G-Phoria

PC.IGN have thrown up their latest Half-Life 2 article in which they get to play Half-Life 2, Valve Software's first person shooter at last Saturday's G-Phoria event.

I found that most of the objects that were placed throughout the depot, such as bottles, crates or other items could be picked up or interacted with, although I had to be careful about carrying or throwing some things around. For instance, I accidentally bounced a bottle off of a table and it careened towards a Combine soldier, who immediately switched on his shock stick.

Guru 3D reports that last week we heard that S.t.a.l.k.e.r. was going to be delayed for many months to come. A lot of critisism was given for that choice. But Today I noticed this post from PixelDude from our forums. He picked up Doom3 today, and to his suprise he saw an empty Stalker DVD containers on the "Coming soon" shelves.

If you already got Doom 3 you've probably noticed the brief manual that doesn't give you much information. The game has a lot of features that can be modified with console commands that are not documented in the manual. If you want to get more information about these commands you can find a list with brief description for each of the 268 commands in Hwspirit's forum.

For all those who will proberly find the game to hard here's a set of cheats to make it more easier on your brain.

To open the console you have to press 'Ctrl+Alt+~' by default and type the following codes in.

A couple people have gotten copies of Doom III as stores are now receiving them. One guy got it from Best Buy and another from an uncle who owns a video game store. It is not fake, so don't say that. Just enjoy these for now...

The official trailer for DOOM 3 has been released. This higher resolution clip sports nearly two and a half minutes of in-game cinematic and action-packed gameplay footage to illustrate the game's premise.

Activision 2005 schedule revealed: True Crime 2, Quake IV, Star Wars III

GamesRadar reports that Activision have announced their line-up of games for 2005 - and they've revealed a slew of new titles in the process. The biggest news is that the game based on Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith will be released on 5 May and Call of Duty 2 will be released next year. Perhaps more interesting though is the announcement that Quake IV is finally set to see the light of day in 2005, after its development was first announced way back at 2001's QuakeCon.

GameSpy have thrown up part 2 of their Gran Turismo 4: All We Know article!

As you can plainly see, Gran Turismo 4 offers a load of new features that its predecessors simply cannot match. Oh, you're still not convinced, huh? I probably should have mentioned the updated graphics engine. Or the fact that the vehicle handling and opponent A.I. has been rebuilt from the ground up for the first time in the history of the series. What about the fact that Yamauchi has confirmed that online play will be included in Gran Turismo 4? Yeah, I thought that might grab your attention.

PlanetDoom reports there have been rumours flying around lately that DOOM 3 would not be able to run on computers that have Windows 98 or Windows 98SE as their operating systems. Since we here at planetDOOM dislike rumours in all shapes and sizes, we went straight to the horses mouth so to speak and asked Activision themselves. The reply we got was that it is confirmed and indeed true that DOOM 3 will only run on Windows machines that have windows 2000 or XP and not lower. So there you have it, looks like some peoples upgrading woes just aren't quite over yet.
