id Software's Official DOOM3 Benchmarks
HardOCP has a 5 page story about id releasing benchmarks for Doom 3 using the latest videocards from ATI and nVidia. The story also includes a introduction from John Carmack himself where he assures us that the results should be cheat-free since none of the videocard vendors were able to access the demo beforehand .

Far Cry 1.2 patch is out
Ubi Soft Entertainment have released the eagerly anticipated new patch for Far Cry, bringing the tropical island first-person shooter by Crytek Studios to version 1.2. This release adds quicksave support, increases run speeds and sprint lengths, fixes some Punkbuster problems, addresses a large number of gameplay issues, applies various optimizations and weapon tweaks, and squashes more bugs.

DOOM 3 Theme Song
PlanetDoom reports cha0s dropped us a line and let us know that Tweaker's blog/music site, http://www.myspace.com/tweaker, has the full version of the DOOM 3 Theme song up on their site for your listening pleasure. There was a 20 second clip of it released on DOOM3.com last week but with this full 2 minute version, you can rock out all you want.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein 2 in Development?
GGMania reports that id CEO Todd Hollenshead confirmed that RTCW2 is in the works by an "outside" studio. There was no mention of the engine it would be on, but i'm guessing the Doom 3 one will be most likely.

Far Cry 1.2 Patch Update
Once again, we want to let you know that Far Cry patch 1.2 is close to being released. We were about to release this week as planned, when a hardware manufacturer code update forced us to modify the patch accordingly. It took a couple of days to make it work without breaking anything else. We think it is worth the extra wait, as it's all about making sure everyone enjoys the best experience possible, both in terms of gameplay and performance.

The official Doom 3 website has been updated and is now offering screenshots, a streaming trailer, info and wallpapers! and GameSpy have had a chat with id programmer Robert Duffy discussing the game's multiplayer capabilities! Here's a snip.
