XanMod 7.2.9 and 6.18.55 Kernels Ship with Latest Linux Stable Code

Published by

XanMod has released three new performance-tuned kernel builds, namely 7.2.9-xanmod1, 6.18.55-xanmod1, and 6.18.55-rt-xanmod1, all built on the latest upstream Linux stable code. These releases incorporate the project's optimizations such as LLVM compiler tuning and enhanced networking patches while focusing on security and stability improvements, particularly in virtualization, networking, and GPU drivers. Founded by Alexandre Frade in 2015, XanMod aims to provide a smoother system experience for desktop users, gamers, and power users who seek performance enhancements without the complexity of kernel compilation. The installation process remains straightforward, allowing users to easily set up the kernel suited to their hardware by following a few simple steps

XanMod released three performance-tuned kernel builds, rebuilding the latest upstream Linux stable code as 7.2.9-xanmod1, 6.18.55-xanmod1, and 6.18.55-rt-xanmod1. These builds keep the project's signature optimizations, including LLVM compiler tuning, workload-adjusted scheduling, and default BBRv3 and Cloudflare TCP networking patches. The changelogs are dominated by security and correctness hardening, with heavy KVM, networking, XFS, and GPU driver fixes sourced largely from syzbot findings.
