Epic Games Store Surprise Giveaway: NoRush! - Tower Edition and KeepUp Survival Free to Claim
Two surprise titles drop mid-week, bringing the total freebie count to four for the week.
Epic Games has added a pair of surprise giveaways that might have you refreshing the store page for hours. NoRush! - Tower Edition and KeepUp Survival are now free, and they're sitting outside the official weekly rotation. If you're keeping score, that means you can walk away with four games this week, provided you move before the deadlines hit.
Keep in mind that the clocks are ticking. KeepUp Survival expires at 5:01 PM UTC on July 19. NoRush! - Tower Edition buys you a little more time, lasting until 10:00 AM UTC on July 20. Head to the Epic Games Store to claim these titles. Add them to your library manually, and they're yours to keep forever.
NoRush! - Tower Edition
Developer FiveStar has released NoRush! - Tower Edition as a low-stakes indie impulse buy. The regular price is just $2.49. The game is a 3D auto-runner where you scale a 300-meter tower on a one-way parkour course. It requires twitch reflexes akin to Flappy Bird, though the vertical format lets you settle into a rhythm after a few false starts.
You dodge obstacles, collect coins, and grab random power-ups that boost your jump height or let you skip sections of the climb. Permadeath is standard. One mistake and you're back at the bottom. The art style is cute and colorful, which softens the difficulty somewhat. It's designed for short sessions. You can play for a minute or two during a break and feel like you've accomplished something.
NoRush! launched on Epic in January 2025 and hit Steam in May. The Tower Edition adds content beyond the original release and includes leaderboard integration. At $2.49, it's the kind of title that's hard to justify buying, but free? It's a fun finger exercise.
KeepUp Survival
KeepUp Survival is the real value winner here. Witte Studio asks $14.99 for this open-world survival sim. You crash-land on a mysterious, abandoned island after a failed evacuation flight. The goal is to build a base, craft gear, and uncover secrets left by a secret research facility that experimented on something "once human, but no longer entirely human."
Witte Studio has been grinding on KeepUp Survival since Early Access in 2021. That's five years of development. A lot of indies burn out by year two, and the Steam reviews reflect that fatigue. The game holds a Mixed rating at 63% across 670 reviews. Rough patches in the polish are evident.
However, the scope is impressive. You get base-building with wood, stone, glass, and straw. Crafting covers tools, weapons, and smelting metals. The island features dynamic weather, a day/night cycle, and hidden locations to explore. You can grow vegetables, generate electricity via solar or wind power, and even tame dogs for hunting. Vehicles, horses, and boats are available for travel.
There's co-op multiplayer with optional PvP, and the game offers no fixed ending. It's non-linear and player-driven. Just don't expect a campaign full of zombies. The main game focuses on peaceful survival. A separate Zombie Expansion in beta is available if you want the undead, but the core loop is about resource management and persistence.
Witte Studio lists minimum specs that demand a decent rig. You need a Ryzen 5 or Core i5, 8 GB of RAM, and a GPU with 6 GB of VRAM. An RX 580 or GTX 1070 will hit the mark. The game requires 18 GB of storage. An SSD is recommended, though the game will run on a hard drive if you're stuck.
It's a rather expensive giveaway for a title with mixed reviews, though the base-building and exploration content provide enough substance to justify the full price. If you have the hardware and the time, it's a solid addition to your library. If your rig is older, test the waters before committing to a full playthrough.
If you've already claimed the weekly offerings, Nova Lands and Tattoo Tycoon are still available until July 16. Echo Generation: Midnight Edition and Luto will drop after that window closes. NoRush! and KeepUp Survival fit neatly into the middle of the rotation. Pick them up while the window is open.
