Epic Games Free This Week (July 9–16): Nova Lands & Tattoo Tycoon

The Epic Games Store is handing out two complete titles this week, and the deadline is set for July 16. You can add Nova Lands and Tattoo Tycoon to your library before the window slams shut.

Epic’s Tuesday giveaways have become a reliable fixture for PC players looking to pad their libraries without raiding their wallets. This week’s pair leans heavily into simulation and automation, though the execution varies significantly between the two.

I remember when Epic first launched this program, the free picks were usually niche indies with tight scopes. Now the curation algorithm chases broader strategy and management fans, which explains why two tycoon-adjacent games landed on the same Tuesday. If you need more storage space, you might want to audit your backlog before clicking through.

Nova Lands drops you onto an alien archipelago to build automated production lines from scratch. Developer BEHEMUTT designed the game to sit somewhere between Factorio, Forager, and Satisfactory, but it runs on a top-down 2D camera with pixel art that hasn’t aged poorly. You’ll manage helper bots, optimize supply chains, and explore a planetary map filled with biomes, caves, and boss fights. It’s a tight loop.

The Steam store currently shows it at -50% off, sitting at €9.99, but all-time reviews sit at "Very Positive" with an 89% approval rating from English players. Recent reviews are mixed, which usually just means veteran builders hit a content wall after clearing every biome. Worth grabbing if you like tinkerer-style sandbox builders.

Then there’s Tattoo Tycoon, a 3D management sim that lets you run a tattoo parlor in a place called Tattuga Bay. CrazyBunch built the game around character creation, shop furnishing, and staff hiring, all wrapped in a colorful, cartoony aesthetic. It clearly pulls inspiration from titles like Two Point Hospital and Planet Coaster, swapping disease outbreaks and roller coasters for custom ink jobs and client relationships.

The Steam launch dropped last month, and the reception has been notably lukewarm. The store currently lists it at -34% off (€19.79) with a Deluxe Studio Edition available for €23.72. All-time reviews sit at "Mixed," hovering around 61% from actual purchasers. If you’re chasing a polished management sim, you might want to wait for patches. If you just want a weird, low-stress business game to mess around with, the free tier removes the risk.

Head here and here to claim them. Visit the Epic Games Store and log in. Both titles will appear under the free games carousel. Click "Get" or "Add to Library" on each, and they’ll stay permanently. The claim window runs strictly from July 9 to July 16. Miss the deadline, and you’ll have to pay full price or hope for a future sale.

Keep in mind that Epic’s free games rotate every Tuesday at 10 a.m. EDT. Set a reminder if you want to track down the next batch. These two will vanish at the same time, so claim them before Friday.
