There's a new preview of Counter-Strike Source BETA over on Game2XS. The article is pretty indepth, covering all the enhancements to the graphics, sound and map and also the numerous gameplay changes in the forthcoming update. Dust is supposed to take place in a Middle Eastern environment but you never really got that impression as the place just had some crates and boxes lying about. Now there are burnt out cars, towering palm trees, Arabic writing scrawled on the walls and abandoned market stalls. As you walk around, you get a real sense that this is a war zone with bottles, jugs and tyres strew across the map. It’s a nice effect and will please those who yearn for more realism in Counter-Strike.
