Holy lightning, Batman! I think you're right! :) When exactly did Creative stop producing GeForce cards? I hadn't even realized.

hmm its some days or weeks i read that NVIDIA is gunna to include SoundStorm (2) in theirs new nForce 4 chipset solutions as "option" for audio freaks and serious gamers ... so....who is right :) ...

A few days ago I read that there will be at least 4 different versions of the nforce 4. with sound, without sound, with raid, without raid, with pci-e, without it, with double pci-e, without it etc etc.

Doesn't look like it. From the article:
While there was hope that NVIDIA would resurrect the APU for the next nForce or possibly even a standalone audio product, neither appears to be in the cards, at least in the immediate future. The next nForce will likely support high-definition audio datatypes, but without SoundStorm's robust hardware acceleration. Taiwanese motherboard makers apparently feel that SoundStorm doesn't offer much value to consumers, especially when cheap 8-channel software audio is all the rage. Given Creative's dominance of the audio market, at least as far as hardware 3D acceleration is concerned, it's really a shame that SoundStorm isn't coming back in some capacity.

Im rather upset over this... Soundstorm 2 was the only reason why I was going to get an AMD64 this year instead of 12+ months. In fact, Soundstorm 1 is the reason why I traded my Epox 8RDA3+ for an Abit AN7 board! I hope its just speculation and nothing more because they only released info not long ago on the 4 different flavors of the chipset... Such a pitty... I so dont want a Audigy 2 ZS, espacilly since PCI is been ditched...
