Radeon X800 vs. GeForce 6800

Published by Newsfactory 2

Just got word from my good mate Anton Nilsson over at Nordic Hardware that their Radeon X800 vs. GeForce 6800 article is out! One point to note is on page 6 Testing system , is that they list Forceware 65.04 ! :D

Four weeks have passed since nVidia launched its GeForce 6800 Ultra. We spent one of those weeks, together with colleagues from all over the world, in Toronto with ATi. What ATi had to show us was . of course, the graphics card that has surfaced under the codename R420. The 14th of April was marked by us as the day nVidia put an end to ATi's trend as ruler of the throne, but today it's time for ATi to try to retake it. In the following pages we will show you if they've succeeded or not.

We(hardware12v.com) have been published a review for the barebone eX5 MINI ME from EPoX, here is a snip:

"We ended a greater opinion of the one than we hoped on this one product, to have prejudices with some of the systems barebone of other marks that preceded to him, but is certain well that nowadays this field of barebone has been growing his performance to the maximum balancing it as much in price as in yield to common equipment ATX.
It is certain well that great part of the recognition takes chipset i865G to it of Intel, nevertheless EPoX has returned to do a great work with his plate EP-4PGF enabling it with a high level of overclclock, expressing the yield of chipset."

VIA EPIA TC-10000 Mini-ITX 12V motherboard

Published by [NT] 0

Techseekers.net has looked at VIAs EPIA TC-10000 motherboard. This board differs from the other EPIA boards because of its built in 12V DC PSU and PCMCIA and Compact Flash slots. They decided to get down to currents and watts and see how much power this board takes under various tasks such as DVD and XVID playback as well as MP3 playback. The VIA EPIA TC-10000 is a uniquely practical little board. Ideal for custom PC mods that are tight on space or use it as a car mp3/divx player since all cars are based on 12V electrical system. The TC-10000 looses little functionality over standard ATX powered EPIA boards, and it does away for the need of a DC-DC adapter if you wished to use those boards. From the results we can see that power requirements are quite low, and power consumption increases linearly with CPU utilisation.

Zalman ZM-RSSC 5.1 External USB Soundcard

DataFuse.net just finished reviewing Zalman ZM-RSSC 5.1 External USB Sound Card

Here's a quote:
"It's no secret Zalman is now apart from being in the cooling-business, doing audio products as well. After reviewing their 5.1 headset, I've noticed Zalman has quite some tricks up their sleeves. Products can only be sold when there is a demand, in this case Zalman snooped around to see what people need. Laptops still don't have 5.1 audio setups, but a lot of them are powerful enough to run every game out there. Same story with DVD's, just think of all the people who watch their favorite movies on their portable devices. "

BLACK ICEMAT 2 vs COREPAD COMPARISON @ Tweaknews.net

Published by Newsfactory 0

The Corepad encompasses everything that a gamer will need. It's relatively cheap, well built, includes a wrist support and is quiet, accurate and stable while gaming. Throw in the fact that it looks great and you have something that I would recommend as a Top Rank product.

The Black Icemat 2 is indeed a good mousepad but in reality you have to realize one thing. It is a US$50 square piece of frosted glass. You will never convince me that any mousepad is worth this kind of money unless it comes with a lot more extras, contains a lot more features or will play the game for me.

nVidia Geforce 6800 Ultra Reference Videocard Review

Quote:
"Without fail, the perpetual battle between videocard manufacturers results in faster video cards and lower prices. The cycle of tit-for-tat comes full circle with the recent unveiling of the Radeon X800 XT, a brutish piece of hardware designed to do battle with nVidia's lean green GeForce 6800 Ultra. Actually, both cards were designed to tear through all of the latest games at 1600x1200 with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering cranked up through the roof. It's all a matter of which card does it faster, conferring the best image quality in the process."
