Makes you wonder what the next generation EPIA boards will be like.

DFI made a reasonable entry into the retail sector some time back with their LAN Party line of motherboards. Not only were these boards nicely loaded, they performed well too. Based on that success, DFI is now launching their Infinity line of motherboards that aren?t as loaded as their LAN Party cousins, but promise to deliver something called CMOS Reloaded. TBreak has their review online and they seem to like the board overall. There were a couple of minor design decisions that they complained about though.

OCIA.net checks out the X-Trac Mouse Pad in their latest review. Below is a quote from the review:

Just got word that OC Workbench have thrown up their review of Abit's KV8-MAX 3 K8T800 for AMD's Athlon 64 CPUU! Here's a snip.

Something that might interest you too is that ABIT KV8-MAX3 is the first Socket 754 board to include 6, you heard it right, 6 SATA ports supporting RAID, 4 is by SiliconImage Sil3114 chipset and another 2 is supported by VIA 8237 south bridge. ABIT also brings its latest features Secure IDE. Secure IDE consists of a IDE connector to secure the data that is stored on the disk. SecureIDE connects to your IDE hard disk and has a special decoder; without a special key, your hard disk cannot be opened by anyone.

DFI has been around for quite some time, but they really made a big hit bringing their LanParty boards to the masses. Let's see if their version of the Nforce2 Ultra 400 is worth your money. If I browse the usual hardware sites most reviews about the NForce2 are from abit or asus, so why not look at DFI's entry.

Anyhow, after ATI introduced its Radeon 9800XT twenty-two days ago, everyone was waiting for the latest Nvidia response, codenamed NV38. Well the NV38 is here and, just as Anand said a few weeks back, it's clocked at 475MHz core and 950MHz memory so just 25MH faster then current FX5900 Ultra cards and with 50MHz faster memory.

Several weeks ago, I picked up two 120GB Western Digital HDDs? the 8MB cache specials. My plan was to span them and use them for storage. My wife remarked that there is such a thing as too much storage space.

Overclocker Cafe have thrown up their review of Speed Strip's Athlon XP unlocking kits! Here's a snip.

So what is it you ask? The Speed Strip is a small piece of plastic with several holes drilled in it. Two of the holes (pic on bottom right) are coated in such as way as that the pins passing through the holes are shorted unlocking the multiplier giving you a range from 5 to a multiplier of 12.5.

Wie das Nachrichtenmagazin "CNN" berichtet, übertrugen die Forscher 1.1 Terrabytes mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 5,44 Gigabit pro Sekunde an das California Institute of Technology. Das entspricht der Übertragung einer kompletten DVD in sieben Sekunden oder einer 60-minütigen CD innerhalb von einer Sekunde. Die bisher schnellste Übertragung fand im Februar mit 2,38 Gigabit pro Sekunde statt - ebenfalls zwischen dem CERN in Genf und Kalifornien. Nach dem neuen Rekord zeigten sich die Wissenschaftler zuversichtlich, in naher Zukunft 10 Gigabit pro Sekunde erreichen zu können.
