Gamers Depot Reviews ASUS Radeon 9800XT

Published by [NT] 0

Gamersdepot takes the new ASUS 9800XT for a spin through their test labs, as many has done before them, but it's always useful with more opinions and more figures. NOTE: the ASUS drivers' apparently doesn't have the Overdrive feature (yet?) but relies on their own 'SmartDoctor' program.

Gamersdepot writes about the XT:
"This review marks the first time we?ve seen ASUS finally build an ATI-based video card and from the out-set it seems as if they've done very well. They've done a major deviation from the reference design and have developed their own cooling solution which yields excellent stability; even while over clocking. it's also very aesthetically appealing as well." Etherlords II review @ DiscGamer.com

Published by [NT] 0

Today DiscGamer.com has published it's review of Etherlords II for the PC, a unique RPG with a very different approach to combat and overall gameplay.

Quote:
"Harking back to the days of the original Dungeons and Dragons method of battle-play, Strategy First brings back this almost mechanical style of play in Etherlords 2. This game is turn-based mathematical strategy plotting your character (?Hero?) with his/her menagerie of weapon-wielding minions against other bad characters with their evil minions. "

DFI 875 Infinity Motherboard

Published by [PM] 0

DFI made a reasonable entry into the retail sector some time back with their LAN Party line of motherboards. Not only were these boards nicely loaded, they performed well too. Based on that success, DFI is now launching their Infinity line of motherboards that aren?t as loaded as their LAN Party cousins, but promise to deliver something called CMOS Reloaded. TBreak has their review online and they seem to like the board overall. There were a couple of minor design decisions that they complained about though.

X-Trac Mouse Pad Review

Published by [NT] 0

OCIA.net checks out the X-Trac Mouse Pad in their latest review. Below is a quote from the review:

"The X-Trac Pro is a cloth mouse pad with that foam rubber backing we have all become accustomed to. So what's the big deal? Why is this optical mouse pad so innovative? Look closely people. Details are the most important and the attention paid to detail on this mouse pad is what makes it so good."

The design of the mouse pad is taking advantage of todays high-rez optical sensors.

Gainward CoolFX Geforce 5950 aka NV38

Published by Newsfactory 0

would you believe it? The Inquirer.net are first out of the trap with a review of Gainward's water-cooled Geforce FX 5950 graphics card, even though it's not you're garden variety Geforce FX 5950! who are we to complain.

Anyhow, after ATI introduced its Radeon 9800XT twenty-two days ago, everyone was waiting for the latest Nvidia response, codenamed NV38. Well the NV38 is here and, just as Anand said a few weeks back, it's clocked at 475MHz core and 950MHz memory so just 25MH faster then current FX5900 Ultra cards and with 50MHz faster memory.
