KingMAX PC3200 256MB Color Modules

Published by Newsfactory 0

Techseekers.net have had a look at some more PC3200 memory. This time they had some KingMAX PC3200 256MB sticks in their testing lab. They found them to be excellent performers, and they also look cool to boot.

Although these modules are not the absolute fastest performing modules around, they are damn close to it. They actually performed well above my expectations suprisingly close to the Corsair PC3200LL despite the loose memory timings, which goes to show that at high FSB these settings amount to only a little improvement. The system itself remained extremely stable at all speeds up to 225MHz.

Sapphire Radeon 9800 Atlantis Pro 256 MB Im Test

Published by [PM] 0

Published by [NT] 0

.... DFI Lanparty Pro875 Canterwood Motherboard @ Tweaknews.net

Published by NewsFactory 0

Having a motherboard that overclocks as good as it looks is a rare commodity in the enthusiast market. This motherboard has it all, period. It looks great, comes bundled with a truckload of extras and can handle a decent overclock without even breaking a sweat. You just can't ask for more from a motherboard purchase. If DFI takes my improvement ideas seriously and makes the appropriate updates, this board will be one of the best on the market. Throw this puppy into a windowed case with a UV cold cathode and you will have a real display piece.

Vantec Ion 400 Watt PSU Review

Published by NewsFactory 0

ExtensionTech: A sometimes forgotten part to keeping a stable system is the power supply. Cheap cases almost always come with cheap power supplies. From what I've seen in my years of PC repair, a cheap PSU doesn't handle the need for power in today's demanding systems well. Sure, you may get away with running your old system on a cheap 300 watt PSU, but keep adding hard drives, CCFL's, Fans, and so on, and you'll probably run into problems one way or another. Continue on as I look at the new Vantec Ion SATA ready 400 watt PSU.

Linksys Proconnect Integrated KVM 2-port Switch @ Speeed's Hardware

Published by NewsFactory 1

Ah was reewared with my new Linksys Proconnect Integrated KVM (keyboard, video, mouse)2-port Switch. Now if'n yer like me you have more than one or two computers lying around. Since there ain't no one that would be sufficently grateful if I gave `em one and sellin' used computers ain't so EZ Ah figgered the most beneficial alternative is for me to make use of it. Ah already have two computer stations in the house so a third woulda gone over like a lead balloon with the wife but Ah want to use my 366 celeron (at one time the flagship of the fleet). The KVM switch allows me to use two computers using only one mouse, keyboard and monitor thus allowing me even more purposeless computer time to enjoy.

AOpen Aeolus GeForceFX 5900 DV128

Published by NewsFactory 0

Just got word from our Bro's at HardTecs4u.com that they've thrown up their AOpen Aeolus GeForceFX 5900 DV128 graphics card review! Here's a quick translation as the site's in German.

The probably most important change of the NV35 to its predecessor is 256 bits a GDR memory interface , which by ATi in the diagram market with the R300 chip was introduced. Thus the range advantage, with whose crown sometimes always ATi could decorate itself, for ATI was now lost. A further consequence 256 bits memory interfaces is the return to normal DDR1 diagram memory. With diagram maps Nvidia on very expensive and at the same time very hot becoming memory had set the NV30, in order to be able to take out a maximum at memory range of the map.

Mushkin PC 3500 - Corsair 3500 C2 - Aquarius II

Published by NewsFactory 0

Well, where to begin? I can't emphasize how *easy* it was to overclock this RAM. I recently have had some RAM in my hands (four times RMA'd now) that would not even do stock speeds at 3.0v on my old IT7-max. It was a joy to get my hands on such a quality product; I know this ram still has headroom. It also does have a pretty swanky "trademark" black PCB, although it's hidden for the most part under the copper heatspreaders.

2 Geforce FX 5900 Cards Reviewed

Published by [NT] 1

Today NordicHarware.com has compared two GeForce FX 5900 graphics cards: the reference model straight from Nvidia and the Gainward FX PowerPack! Ultra/1200XP Golden Sample. NV35 is a long card, very long to be exact. When I was about to install it the first time it did not fit, it was too large. After some rearrangement it fitted with only a millimeters margin. (The cards on the image are (top to bottom) NV35, NV30, R350 and NV34.) nVidia has said that the final PCB will be an inch shorter. In other words it will still be a little longer than an NV30. Hence to mount an NV30 or NV35 in an SFF case is not a smart idea.

ABIT IS7 Max II Advance Motherboard

Published by NewsFactory 0

Viper Lair takes a look at the ABIT IS7 Springdale today, and if their benchmarks are any indication, this mainstream board demonstrates that the Canterwood is not the only game in town.

Let us remind you one thing that was obvious today? make sure your ABIT IS7's BIOS is updated to v1.3. Not everyone will have an ABIT Canterwood to compare against, but it seems likely to me that an ABIT IS7 with the Game Accelerator BIOS will make a strong argument of considering a Springdale, specifically the IS7, rather than a Canterwood.
