3-Way SATA-II Drive Round-up

Published by Newsfactory 0

It?s been a little while since we did a 3-way drive round-up of hard drives and none so far have come close to the capacities we?re looking at in this article. We secured the largest capacity SATA-II units from Hitachi, Maxtor and Seagate ? the three companies we?d argue are the top 3 when it comes to releasing bleeding-edge performance, capacity and value.

Published by Newsfactory 0

Gigabyte just upped the stakes with its own dual GeForce 6800 GT SLI single-board product, the GV-3D1-68GT. With a physically smaller frame, faster clock speeds and the first single-board SLI card to offer full quad-display support, it looked like Gigabyte had a winner in their hands. As our in-depth testing shows, the GV-3D1-68GT succeeded in performance, often with scores 6% to 9% leading the ASUS EN6800GT Dual and up to 30% faster than a single GeForce 7800 GTX.

GeForce 7800GTX: EVGA's KO Edition @ AnandTech

Published by Newsfactory 0

The previous EVGA 7800GTX that we tested comes factory overclocked, with a core clock of 450MHz and memory clock of 1.2GHz, yet it would seem that EVGA was not content to stop there. The EVGA e-GeForce GTX KO comes out of the box with a core clock setting of 490MHz and memory clock of 1.3GHz. It also sports a modified heat sink and a new look, a first for our 7800 series. We're excited to see how this card performs and overclocks compared to the other 7800s. It's safe to say that it should outperform the 7800s that we've reviewed so far, but we'll be seeing by how much in the performance section later on.

asetek VapoChill Micro Review: Ultra Low Noise

asetek started with phase-change cooling, then they added water-cooling units to their product list, and today we see their first air cooled heatsink. Is their evolution backwards? The VapoChill Micro is very competitively priced, promises to remove up 150W of CPU generated heat, silently, and it weighs less then a feather. Too good to be true? Let's find out.

Lian Li PC-767 Review

OCIA.net takes a look at the Lian Li PC-767 in their latest review.

All of the front panel plates are removable, leaving a total of ten 5¼" bay positions. Yes, even the hard drive cage and 120mm intake fan are removable, so you're not stuck with having these at the bottom. If you wish you could put it at the top, middle, wherever you want. There's a removable foam fan filter that slides into place in front of the fan.

Thermaltake Armor Case Review at 3DXtreme

Published by Newsfactory 0

The Thermaltake Armor has its faults but with a few tweaks here and there I really believe Thermaltake can deliver a Case capable of stellar performance and quality. At $160 I feel we have to be hard on this Case, Cooler Master, Lian Li and Silverstone would all fall into this price point. We need to see features like aluminum Power and Reset buttons, and replace other areas that are plastic with something that will last ? overall this Case is a great stepping point for Thermaltake.

Blu-Ray Standard: An Overview

Published by [NT] 0

With the entertainment industry showing an amazing amount of keenness in adopting HDTV, traditional storage media (DVDs and CDs) just can?t keep up with the requirements in terms of capacity; a 2-hour HDTV video can easily fill up a whopping 25GB of space. This is equivalent to roughly five times the capacity of a single layer DVD of today. Imagine having to keep five DVDs for each movie in your collection, and you will realize just how quickly that disc rack can fill up.

Buying Guide: Laser Printers

Published by [NT] 0

Laser printers have had a lot going for them lately. The prices are falling, they are cheaper for volume printing and the text prints are always better than any Inkjet printer you can ever buy. Laser printers are also incredibly faster than most of the Inkjet printers, and if you are doing continuous printouts, they will simply floor you with the speed (at least most of them will).

Quiet PC/Zalman TNN 300 System

Published by Newsfactory 0

Remember Zalman's TNN500A case? No fans to be found in it, at all. Alas, it was a little on the large side, and not the prettiest looking of cases. Refreshingly, Zalman has created the TNN300. It's smaller and in my opinion at least, better looking, so how does a system based around it perform?

Logitech Z-5300e 5.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System Review @ Tweaknews

Published by Newsfactory 0

After the pictures are taken and the product is tested, I was honestly trying to find something I could find as a considerable shortfall when considering this system. There just really isn't a reason not to pick this system up if the almighty Z-5500 is a little beyond your budget and power requirements. The system sounded great, everything was made perfectly and everything setup without an issue noted.
