ATI's RADEON X800 VPU has been highly anticipated by gamers and hardware enthusiasts ever since it was introduced at the end of last year. The chip combines a 12-pixel pipeline architecture with high clock speeds and a 256-bit memory interface. But PowerColor takes the stock RADEON X800 to another performance level with their X800 Bravo Edition board.

Sapphire is among the first out of the gate as an add-in board partner to launch a Radeon X850 XT ? not to be confused with the platinum edition which is clocked slightly higher and priced through the stratosphere ? this card comes in right around the $499 mark.

Today we take a look at one of the first aftermarket heatsink/fan combos available to cool Intel's Prescott CPU from Thermaltake, their Silent 775. To keep this beast quiet, Thermaltake has opted to use heatpipe technology along with their funneled 90x90x25mm fan that centralizes airflow and provides high air pressure and better cooling.

CD Freaks drive reviewer and moderator Wesley Novack, has just finished the review of the new ASUS 16x DVD+/-RW, the DRW-1604P. Besides its 16x DVD+/-R capabilities, this drive will write a DVD+R DL at 4x, DVD+/-RW at 4x, CD-R at 32x and CD-RW at 24x speed. It reads DVD-ROM with a maximum of 16x and CD-ROM with a maximum of 40x speed.

Gigabyte have a rather appealing nForce 4 SLI motherboard that I'm sure many PC enthusiasts will want to get their hands on. ATI is looking to correct the wrongs of last year with their new X850 XT Platinum Edition graphics card, which is currently ATI's flagship product for the gaming market. The Radeon X850 XT PE is based on ATI's new R480 graphics core, the same core which is also featured in ATI's standard Radeon X850 XT product. The "Platinum Edition" card simply kicks up the clock speeds of the core and memory a notch higher, allowing slightly better performance in the most intensive graphics scenarios.

I have to be honest, when I first starting testing this videocard, I wasn't exactly expecting anything significant other than maybe a little higher benchmarking. What I actually encountered was an excellent performing videocard loaded with extra hardware and software, yet still has a MSRP US$199 pricetag seen associated with even the bland reference model from ATI.
