NVIDIA Releases Free Sidrial Quake III MOD!

Published by NewsFactory 2

ibelite.com This new year brings more innovation and more imagination to a community that thirsts for something different. Fountainhead Entertainment releases Sidrial, a Total Conversion for Quake III Arena. Sidrial was created from an artform known as Machinima where game meets cinema. Where once games were created and Machinima followed, with Sidrial, Machinima led the way to game.

In Sidrial, a bloodthirsty race bent on power and destruction have annihilated every inhabited planet in their wake. Sidrial is the last outpost between Earth and extinction. In the Total Conversion, the Sidrial story is the driving force behind the game where players find themselves in the middle of a seemingly hopeless war. A devastated planet forges new heroes and the ultimate fight is for survival. The two levels included in the release, one single player and one multiplayer level, reflects the basic storyline of a war torn planet. You need a full working version of Quake III Arena (with 1.30 patch) to install this game, a 500MHz CPU, a 3-D Hardware accelerator with full OpenGL support and 32MB of VRam.

AND THE WINNER IS...

Judging by the sales reports we're starting to get, it looks like everyone went nuts for games over the break. For those of you curious about the "winners" of the holiday season - if this were the Olympics, the PS2 would be at the top of the podium with Xbox at number two, and Gamecube bringing up the rear looking slightly pissed for being pipped at the post by a slim margin.

It was a pretty close battle, and towards the end of the year we even heard that the Xbox was actually starting to catch up with the PS2 in terms of day to day sales. Apparently Halo really is the killer app to end all killer apps. Let's face it - there still isn't an enormous list of must-buy games for the Xbox aside from it. Beyond Halo, DOA3 and Max Payne, there are a few "hmmm...OK" chin-strokers like NFL Fever. But look further and you're into the realm of Johnny-Sports-Star-No-one-Gives-A-Crap-About- Extreme-Moto-Cross-Boarder-Skater-Surf-Dude 2. Or Cel Damage.
