The article is a preview that contain many screenshots, and is written entirely in French (tough luck for many of us out there). The facts come from a hands on account of playing UT2, so you can be certain that this game is not a simple rumor (think something around the lines of Unreal Championship for the PC).

Westwood has released the first official map pack for Yuri's Revenge, the expansion pack for C&C: Red Alert 2. The 143kb download contains two multiplayer maps, one titled "Transylvania Trouble" for 2-6 players, and the other called "Irvine, California" for 2-8 play.

id Software have also released a new source code distribution of Quake II . updating last week's release to the final version 3.21 of the game and if you every played Quake II you will know that v3.21 was never released as a patch! :D

Ahhhh, SHOOT..!

Have you ever spent a lot of time running around in a first person shooter, only to think, ?Hey, this is fun and all, but I don?t think this marine is mobile enough. What I need is a vehicle...? I know I have, and lately, games such as Operation Flashpoint have granted this wish. Another game to add to the list is Comanche 4.0, the latest in NovaLogic?s long running ?light? flight sim series. The latest incarnation of Comanche is more of a first person shooter with a helicopter, rather than a flight simulation, and never in my two decades of flight sim fanaticism have I preferred to use a mouse over a joystick...until now, that is.

ID Software's John Carmack has released the source code of an older engine.ID announces the availability of the Quake II source code as an early Christmas present.

Quake 2 source code is now available for download, licensed under the GPL

As with previous source code releases, the game data remains under the original copyright and license, and cannot be freely distributed. If you create a true total conversion, you can give (or sell) a complete package away, as long as you abide by the GPL source code license. If your projects use the original Quake 2 media, the media must come from a normal, purchased copy of the game.

Saw it just over @ BluesNews
that Novalogic has a new patch for Comanche 4.
This release adds the promised Internet multiplayer through NovaWold, as well as a handful of gameplay and multiplayer fixes.
The patch is momentary only available via the auto-updater.
