James Sunderland's wife Mary has been dead for three years - or so he thought. After receiving a letter from her asking him to meet her in their favourite place, Silent Hill, James travels there to find out how she's managed to get the postal service to deliver first-class mail from beyond the grave.

Recently UA-corp.com came online, featuring a teaser image of a heads-up-display with what seems to be the planet Mars in the background. By checking the domain name's registration information, it seems the site belongs to id Software, the creators of the Doom and Quake series of PC games. Most likely, the new domain is connected with the developer's much anticipated first person shooter Doom III, and will soon be updated with more information on the game itself.

Freedom Games has released the promised demo for G.I. Combat, offering the opportunity to try out their imminent 3D real-time war game set in World War II. The demo apparently contains a training mission but further details on its contents are not available.

Wow man those new maps are really great and are awesome to play! There are 10 deathmatch, 10 capture the flag and 10 bombing run maps for download....

Some cowboy scanned a December 2002 PC Gamer article about Doom III and stuck them on a website www.chuk.tk. There's a lot of pictures and you can pretty much read the whole article.

This Windows Media file is of the PC version, and contains some two minutes of impressive and ? for those who've read the book or seen the film (or were there, obviously) ? terrifyingly convincing in-game footage, as you swoop over the godforsaken streets of Mogadishu, before jumping from your ?copter to, most likely, an early grave. Based as it is on a relatively recent and very real piece of senseless slaughter, it's in questionable taste. On the other hand, it looks bloody good.

NVmax.com has now got a preview for the Deathrow game coming soon on the Xbox. It is pretty extensive with an interview with the producers and there's a snip under read more.

Electronic Arts sends 3D Gamers the playable demo for Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, offering the opportunity to take this imminent action racing simulation for a spin. The demo contains the Single Challenge mode where you can try out a 2 lap single race on the Calypso Coast track using a choice of two cars Ferrari 360 Spider and Porsche 911 Turbo.

Codemasters have released a new patch for Operation Flashpoint: Resistance and it's version 1.85. Here's some of the new weapons that have been added to the patch.

Hunting Rifle (HuntingRifle, HuntingRifleMag): civilian hunting rifle with optics. Very strong but a bit slow.
G-17 - silenced version: This is the silenced version of standard G-17 (but with less range).
Revolver (Revolver, RevolverMag): very powerful yet very slow hand gun.
M-10: submachinegun used as handgun. Not the most accurate weapon but has a high rate of fire and clips that hold 30 bullets.

Well if your looking for any of the above then you need to check out UT2003 HQ! I got to say they got some very coool stuff! Like this map called FOOTBALL.

A bombing run map on a football field. There are 2 scoring possibilities. You can shoot through the field goal or attempt "to-go-all-the-way" to get a touchdown. The touchdown is more difficult explaining why it gives 7 points and the field goal only 3.

I wanted to combine my love of the Star Wars films with my love for mapping and gaming. I was never happy with the games that were based in the Star Wars universe; while they were great games, I thought they lacked the distinctive "Star Wars" feel. After I got into team-oriented play and clan-based gaming, I figured, "Well, why not make a game based on the grunts of the Star Wars universe? A game that combines the awesome atmosphere of Star Wars with the exhilerating fun of team combat?" The project has since then blossomed to fruition after what has been quite a struggle.

New screenshots for SimCity 4, the 3D city building and management game under construction at Maxis have been released.

There is a pair of new movies for James Bond 007: NightFire, the superspy first-person shooter that is nearing completion at Gearbox Software. The movies are rather short, sporting only a dozen or two of actual gameplay footage.
