Pls help. I dont know what to do. I have asus gf fx 5900 card with vivo option, 2.4c HT enabled proc, asus p4c800 deluxe mobo. audigy 2 zx platinum pro sound, 2gb of ddr400 ram dual channel, cd rw, dvd. Everything worked great till i installed audigy card. After that when i tried to install capture driver it reported that device can not be started. When i connect composite cable to tv out PC freezes abd nscreen goes blank and i can not start pc until i change slot for sound card. IRQs are OK. Also my graphic card stopped working once (smart doc reported that). I rtied different driver versions of 4x.xx but the whole thing is not driver problem. Then i started smart doc and WHAT??? Agp bus voltage is 2.9 instead of 3.3, I checked the BIOS and i saw same value there. I have 400 watts PSU but... 2.9... Can this be a problem and how to solve it??? Big thanks in advance. I use PC a lot for work but now im afraid to turn it on. Any help is very appreciated. Im waiting...

STOP!!!!

AGP voltage is *NOT* supposed to be 3.3Volts! That is for AGP 1.0. Your card is AGP 2.0/3.0 and that means it should take either 1.5 volts or 0.8volts (depending on which signaling mode it is in).

Putting the voltage at 3.3 can and will damage your video card and mainboard.

But in smart doc settings i found this: normal: 3.3 +- 0.49. Manual says the same. in BIOS there are VCORE, followed by 3.3, +5,+12,-12 voltages i think. Damn im confused now. I know about 1.5 but maybe this is something else. HELP!

that 3.3V u mean is something else then AGP Voltage

maybe its a software problem .... try reinstalling windows since the problems does not occure anytime just on that spezific things u mentioned ...
go backup with acronis true image or something equal and reinstall windows ... this helps in 90% of all cases ...

I reinstalled windows 5-6 times in last two days Im experienced PC user I found at some other forums many people with same problem. Many of them were solved by installing a new PSU. Or by installing older capture driver first and then some other. AGP voltage is ok but 3.3 is required for agp to work and it is, again, 2.9 in my case which is too low. Im gonna try my graphic card in another PC but im sure it will work fine in some less loaded configuration. Damn... Continue to post pls. Everything u write or think can help. I repeat, i discovered that i am not the only one.

will this fix ur problems ?

and list the diagramm on you PSU here .... 400Watt is not all ... the ampere values for the single lines are also important

+3.3V = 28A
+5V = 40A
+12V = 17A
-12V = 0.8A
-5V = 0.3A
+5VSB = 2A

The problem is with +3.3V where i get in BIOS and smart doctor 2.9. I am waiting here for your help. Pls stay with me

The same is when i remove audigy It must be a low voltage problem... I pray God for it :)

It is very important to mention this. In display settings in advanced controls in gf fx settings -where d3d, opengl and other setings are- there are no nview properties and on that picture on top of driver settings window it just says the name of card and the IRQ, and before, when it worked, there was something like this: tv encoder: philips and some number but u know what am i talking about. So that device is not working at all but im sure the cards is OK. Damn

28A is OK got this, too

I know what you mean but this has to say nothing ... I always had the TV Out chipset there but since ....... (I dunno) its not ... don't know why this is removed same with your VideoChip I think ....

and if we want to eliminate the Valtage thing first .... go and remove everythign from ur PC else the FX even remove 1GB RAM at this configuration there can't be a voltage problem ... what now ?

Hey man u are helping me alot. im gonna remove sound and leave only one memory stick and im gonna remove dvd and cd drives. I ll be back here ASAP. But before i do this, could it be that my PSU has a failure??? Maybe i should try a different PSU, but in stores in my town i can not find a stronger one at the moment LOL. Damn i would be happy to get at least tv-out working :)

then don't buy it in your local store search the internet for seller ... my no name PSU works great ... only the -12V line is a bit low ....

so maybe ur PSU really does have some trouble ... lets see what happens if you disconnect everything ... and can't u burrow just a PSU from one of ur friends for testing

HEY great!!! Listen, here is what i did: i put my card in less loaded friend's PC with worse PSU than mine. But 3.3 line vas 3.25 and guess what? When i installed driver in display properties i found tv encoder: philips bla bla bla.... but as soon as i conected my composite cable, the graphic card again turned off LOL Damn... I guess i eally need a new PSU. U think Thermaltake silent Purepower 580 W will do the trick? Amperages are higher than on my current PSU. Thanks for all your effort. We are on the way to solution. Pls stay with me. C ya later when i order and when i try something else

as I said a noname PSU will do the job, too and 420/450 are fully enough ... 500++ is only for real power machines ... with 8 HDD's and so on ... but bad is a 500+ neither ... so take what u want ... 400+ should be enough

:P hehe U don't know how good I can understand you ...

I had some trouble with my new 120GB 7200.7 that cost me really much nerves ... the most important thing was ... my BIOS detected the HDD as CHS not as usuable LBA ... I would have never found that shit if I wouldn't be such a experienced PC user ... I just saw that 2nd boot screen with all devices and interups listed looked somehow strange ... did not know why then I said OK lets investigate this .... break-key ... huh whats that both 80GB are LBA and only the 120 CHS but both are 7200.7 ... strange and some other strange problems which are now fixed .... but the bad thing about that was ... everything worked ... I was able to do everything only the most important thing did not work ... just like ur problem ... everything works else TV ... thank god u saw that voltage thing .... I would have never said ... uuuu problem ... check ur voltage (in this case)

enough said ...... music ownz here got to make it louder and relax ... (Technics DJ Set Vol. 10)

there is no "too much" ... you can buy a 1000 Watt PSU and it will work either
