Screw the P4 if you've got enough money to pay for that you've definitley got enough money to buy the highest Athlon64

if you go .. do yourselfe a favor and look out for PCI 2.3 support !
so go for A64 or i875
so u are able to make full use of RAID - so take 2 or even 3/4 disk ...
but I do highly recommend SEAGATE 7200.7 ;)

get the Corsair XMS memory (cas 2) with the fastest speed you can afford. Don't get the stuff with the silly little flashing LED's, just the fastest. A pair of the 74gb WD 10,000 rpm Raptors in RAID 0 will also help..

The stuff with the "silly little flashing LED's" are the fastest modules
Forget a pair you want a 4-way raptor set in RAID 0.
