After the release of Windows Vista Beta 1 (codenamed Longhorn) many users of the nVidia GeForce 6x00-series was met with the disappointing news that the only LDDM-certified drivers for nVidia cards support the FX-series, not the later generation. LDDM-certified drivers are necessary to experience the various effects in the new GUI. The Geforce 6x00 drivers that came with Windows Vista Beta 1 was not LDDM-certified, and the various special effects were disabled.

nVidia released a new set of drivers with LDDM-support which gives users of Geforce 6x00-cards the full glory of the Aero theme (with glass, glow, zoom etc.)
