Weston 15.0.2 has been released as a bug-fix update that resolves issues from version 15.0.1, specifically a shader change that disrupted YUV video rendering on PowerVR and Vivante drivers. This release includes around 18 patches contributed by seven developers and also unblocks the lua-shell, allowing users to load external Lua modules. The update primarily targets users still on Weston 15, as the development has since transitioned to the 16 cycle. Users with hardware from the affected GPU vendors are encouraged to upgrade to benefit from the fixes and performance improvements

Weston 15.0.2 has shipped as the second bug-fix release in the 15 feature line, undoing a shader change from 15.0.1 that had broken YUV video rendering on PowerVR and Vivante drivers. Marius Vlad of Collabora announced it on the Wayland developers' mailing list, packing roughly 18 patches from seven contributors since 15.0.1. The release also clears the last blockers to the lua-shell, letting users finally load external Lua modules instead of just running the stock example. It's mostly aimed at people still on Weston 15, since the line has already been overtaken by the 16 cycle.
