Is Google preparing for the public release of their ever popular web-based email, GMail?

Google updated their "Google Accounts" page some time ago, this time an interesting feature was pointed out! When one subscribes or registers for a Google Account, one is entitled to the use of Google Alerts, Froogle Shopping List, Google Groups, My Search History and most of all GMail!
