I bought this version of Windows XP. It is Windows XP Pro OEM edition and it cost me approx £150. I bought it a day after the release. Would of bought it on the day, but was ill that day.
I think XP should be free anyway, to make up for: a) The Turd-steam that they called Windows98 b) Implying that we were too untrustworthy to be allowed an installation cd, and had to put up with the pain-in-the-arse restore cd
Yes, Professor Shitforbrains, that is the point, all my shitty pc came with was the restore disk, (from TIME), which forced me to start afresh each time Windows 98 went tits up (quite often) and left me with a heap of crap software to uninstall that, had I been given a Windows 98 cd instead, would never have been on in the first place. It also prevented me from partitioning my HD, as it kindly 'unpartitioned' it back to factory condition each time this happened. My better, newer, pc has a similar restore cd for XP, but I got a pirated Windows cd for £3 as well, just to save all the pissing about, so kindly kiss my arse
Question here for yas ! how come WinXP pro is putting all my PCIs on one IRQ and my board is APCI compliant? eg: IRQ 3 Microsoft APCI compliant system 3 NIC 3 soundcard 3 USBs 3 Vid card any sugestions ?
that's easy. Since more and more PCI cards(and the single AGP) were coming out and used up all the IRQ's(if u notice.. mobo's only have 15 IRQ's), they had to come up with a way to share the IRQ's on different Cards. APCI was designed for it. The default IRQ is 11 but a person can change it in the BIOS. I don't have a recent mobo and found out i was getting a lot of crashes because of APCI so i disabled it. Now my PC is 90% more stable although new mobo's with APCI should be ok and should be left on. US
