Been there done that .. yawn yawn yawn... everyone sucks.. I dont doubt ALL GPU makers optimize and cheat, its the extent to which nvidia do it that worries me. The 3DMark and shadermark CHEATS in particular are appalling. ATI drops in game based benchmarks (like aquamark and UT2003) can be explained away by the fact that the 'cheat blocker' would also stop genuine and fair game optimisations, in nvidias case its down to timedemo detection mostly.
