You just HAD to start the ATI vs Nvidia laming again, huh?

Good point Hinkle, ATi never did do any extreme paper launches before then. I'm not arguing that there wasn't a problem with getting X800 XT PEs, I just found it funny that about a week or two after launch when no one could find any I could get the exact X800 I wanted ordered and delivered to me door in 42 hours. I was the exception and not the rule I know, but it still cracks me up. I think ATi was originally planning to paper launch the R520, but the reaction to the XT PE shortage made them re-think that and they're waiting until they have enough to put out to even announce it this time.

He's right BB, it was ATi's biggest paper launch ever. It wasn't THE biggest paper launch ever, but it was THEIRS. ;)

"We have seen far too many paper launches from ATI and NVIDIA in regards to their X800, X850 and 6800 series of graphics adapters." .......

He was just stating that ATI said they wouldnt release any paper launches but shortly after they did. Isnt that irony worth mentioning? It also underlines his next statement. "But the very reason why paper launches have been made in the past (due to marketing reasons and taking the crown), paper launches will continue to be made in the future. I don't see this trend from being stopped anytime soon. There is just too much money in the game." Do you see any name-calling in there? No, it only says that this is how marketing works right now, even if companys claim they wont be releasing any. It also tells you that companys talk shit all the time.
