Tech Station Review

Published by [NT] 0

OCIA.net has posted a review of the Tech Station. Below is a direct quote from the review:
"The motherboard doesn't actually mount onto the Tech Station. Instead, it simply rests on the lower platform. This is one reason it's so easy to install hardware on the Tech Station. You place this foam pad on the bottom shelf and then put the motherboard on top of it. This protects the bottom of the board, prevents it from sliding around and ensures a static-free motherboard."

Verbatim Store 'n' Go Pro USB Drive Review

Published by [NT] 0

Flash drives are the current generation of floppy disks, as they allow users to read and write data with extremely fast speeds in an instant.
The drives’ USB 2.0 compliance aids in transferring data back and forth at 480MBps theoretically. They sweeten the deal even more with their high storage capacities that go as high as 2GB. Then you can add to their overall smaller size and sleek design and you have a successful and futuristic product in the market.
There is no hassle of storing 1.44MB of data on multiple floppy disks and there is no worry about having to drag 20 different disks with one project.
Not to mention the fact that USB drives are more versatile and heavy duty, so to speak, that you won’t have to worry about scratching or breaking them.

Albatron Trinity Geforce PCX5750 PCI Express Videocard Review @ Tweaknews.net

Published by [NT] 0

Article Snippet:
"The Albatron Trinity PCX 5750 would be the perfect card for someone in need of a videocard which is faster than budget, but not as expensive as mainstream. The card was always completely stable during normal use and oddly during overclocking and I never once had one single artifact throughout my extensive gaming and benchmarking. The card took a licking and kept on ticking. Image quality was always very good, gaming speed was acceptable if you keep out of the games full of eye candy and the card was very easy to install and setup."

Mercury elite case - grey

Published by [NT] 0

When someone offers you a sub-£30 case to review you don't usually get terribly excited about it. Surprisingly however the Mercury Elite seems to be a very stylish case for its price tag, and we were quick to give credit where it's due.
Quote: " When I first heard that we were to review the Mercury Elite, the first thing I did was go and look for a price. My first thoughts when I realised that it was selling for under £30 including the VAT and with a 400 watt passive PFC power supply fitted were that it must be one of the plainest, ugliest and least user-friendly case ever created. I mean lets face it, even a cheap-and-nasty 400watt power supply will cost you £30, and I've no doubt at all that a cheap-and-nasty power supply is pretty much what you get, but that still means the case comes for free! NVIDIA's GeForce 6 SLI: Demolishing Performance Barriers @ AnandTech

Published by Newsfactory 0

If you've got the money, SLI is definitely worth it. But how does it fare as an upgrade path?

ASUS and NVIDIA have been working very closely with each other on the nForce4 SLI project. NVIDIA took ASUS? A8N-SLI Deluxe on tour with them, doing demonstrations to reviewers all over the world based on this one motherboard. Obviously the partnership has irritated a few of ASUS? competitors, and thus it looks like Gigabyte and MSI are doing their best to get their competing boards out as soon as possible. But ASUS was the first to get us a final board and thus we have them in our review today.

Enermax 470 watt Noisetaker PSU Review

Published by [NT] 0

OCIA.net has posted a review of the Enermax 470 watt Noisetaker PSU. Below is a direct quote from the review:
"The EG475P-VE SFMA power supply has 470W of total power and exceeds Intel's new ATX 12V 2.0 standard. With the new ATX 2.0 specification comes the introduction of two +12V rails. The first +12V1 rail provides the noise-sensitive processor and motherboard components with their own clean power, while the second +12V2 rail provides power to all the drives and fans(except those connected to motherboard header pins) in a persons computer. If heat is the biggest factor in decreasing computer component life, one would think that computers would have a cool down period after shutting down, like many of today's automobiles do. Enermax now brings to the PSU table Smart Fan Technology or SFMA with this new power supply. SFMA will keep the units cooling fans running for up to 2 minutes after the computer has been shut down."

Steelpad S&S Mousepad review

Published by [NT] 0

MHW has a review of the Steelpad S&S Mousepad, this pad includes a couple extras usually not found with your normal mousepad.

Removing the wrapper and opening the box itself you find that the S&S mousepad is encased in a black nylon dual zippered sleeve, with a logo on the bottom left corner. Since the S&S is advertised as a gaming mousepad and will probably see a fair amount of LAN gaming travel this makes sense, since a single deep large scratch could well make the pad unusable for that purpose.

XrayPad Aqua3 Large Gaming Mousepad Review @ Tweaknews.net

Published by Newsfactory 0

Well I would have to say the Aqua 3 from X-Ray has got a lot to offer. I enjoyed using this product and think it may remain on my work desk until I get canned. The pad is well made and appears to be very durable. I like the stylish simplicity of design that makes for a very modern, professional and clean-cut look. The Aqua3 is not only comfortable and stylish, but it also has the functionality needed in a quality mouse pad.

Two new reviews at 3DXtreme

Published by Newsfactory 0

3DXtreme have posted 2 new reviews on Aerocool's HT-101jr Heatpipe Cooler and Aerocool's Centaurus Titanium LED Fan!

Until now we had relied on the Thermaltake Silentboost K8 as probably one of the best, silent cooling solutions for the Athlon64. While it was necessary for us to operate the HT-101jr with a fan, it was certainly quieter than our Silentboost with our modification to 90mm fan.
