ABIT Radeon 9600 XT 256MB Review

Published by Newsfactory 0

While most of the time, everybody's eyes are on the top end of the graphics market, a top of the range card isn't for everyone. If you want DX9 graphics, and decent performance even in the newest games, albeit at the lower resolutions, try the ATI Radeon 9600 XT. Hexus.net have a review of ABIT's 9600XT. It performs well, although it does leave you wondering if going that bit further and buying a 9800 will be better in the long run.

Soltek SL-K8TPro-939 Motherboard Review at 3DX

Published by Newsfactory 0

The Soltek SL-K8TPro-939 met our expectations and delivered an experience indicative of our past experiences of Solteks' products. The price to performance ratio of these boards just can not be beat. At the same price point most of the other boards lack SATA Raid, while this may not be used by everyone it is a feature that some may grow into. The stock performance was on par with other VIA K8T800 Pro based Motherboards and the overclocking ability outshined that of the ABIT AV8.

FlexiGlowHK xRaider Illuminated Mouse Pads Review @ ExtensionTech.net

Published by Newsfactory 0

FlexiGlowHK is back once again with a product that should appeal to anyone that just doesn't want a normal looking or performing mouse pad. I'll put the new xRaider LED illuminated mouse pad on the chopping block in this one page review. FlexiGlowHK was nice enough to send all three color variations, blue, red, and green, so continue on to see I think of this pad.

ASUS K8N-E Deluxe @ HEXUS.net

Published by Newsfactory 0

The K8N-E Deluxe is a Socket 754 board running the Nvidia nForce 3 250Gb chipset. It brings a beefy feature set (SATA, Firewire, Hardware Firewall, GbE, the list goes on), along with good performance. All ASUS need to do is tweak the BIOS a bit and they have themselves a great overclocking board too. Check out the review over at Hexus.net.

PhasePlane Heatpipe Review

Published by [NT] 0

Rainer over @ Teschke.de has published a new review for your reading pleasure, today he is testing the PhasePlane Heatpipe. We were able to bend the heat pipes just after the copper plates to go up the back of the PC case. The advantage of these heat pipes was that they were easily bendable by hand without the risk of damaging the internal structure. We then mounted two large aluminum heat sink coolers on each face of the longer side of the heat pipes which we again fixed with two screws each. Read more here

Altec Lansing MX5020 Speakers Review

Altec Lansing has been around since before the dawn of stereo. Altec Lansing was formed in 1941 when Altec purchased the Lansing Manufacturing Company. In 1946 the former Lansing owner, James B. Lansing, later formed JBL, a name most of us will recognize. Altec has always been known for its speaker systems in the affordable category and today we will take a look at their recently announced MX5020 speaker set.

Crucial X800 Pro @ HEXUS.net

Published by Newsfactory 0

Hexus.net have thrown up a review of Crucial's Radeon X800 Pro. For those of you that don't know, Crucial is a leading manufacturer of OEM RAM. They have only recently begun to cater to the enthusiasts.

Crucial fails to hit the mark when evaluated on any of these criterias. That's the problem right there. The bundle is basic, with just enough to get the card working correctly. There are no additional games that one can play with, and the card is very much reference in every respect. A keen online price of ~£270 could have minimised the inadequacies that exist elsewhere, but an asking price of £316 inc. VAT puts it close to the price of the cheapest X800 XT PE card.

Silverstone Temjin 5 SST-TJ05-B Case Review at 3DX

Published by Newsfactory 0

Today 3DXtreme is presenting a refresher to an earlier review we had posted. Recently we posted a review of the SilverStone Temjin TJ-05 ATX Case. We ran into a few issues with the Case and SilverStonetek quickly provided another one, this time in black and without the integrated fan controller. SilverStone provided this Case to see if we experienced the same issues, hoping it was damage that occurred in transit we proceeded to move our whole system into this new TJ05B Case. We decided to deliver this as a separate Case review, due to the fact that this Case lacked the fan controller and had a lower purchase price. Let?s see how this Case fared regarding the issues we experienced and if this model of the TJ05 delivered more than just a replacement product.

Crucial Radeon X800 PRO 256MB Review

Published by [NT] 0

Add in board partners to the likes of NVIDIA and ATI need to do something special to their products to differentiate them from the competition. You'd expect a graphics card from Crucial, makers of high quality RAM, and kings of customer satisfaction, to be cream of the crop. However, this Hexus review suggests that while the card is good, it's nothing special compared to any already on the market. Still, regardless of whether it stands from the competition, you can't go wrong with Crucial kit. So, if you want a new speedy graphics card, the review may be worth checking out.

Intel's P4 XE 3.46GHz processor and 925XE chipset @ TechReport

Published by Newsfactory 0

What can I say about the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition processor? It's a stranger in a strange land, an anomaly in the desktop processor world, a thousand-dollar CPU inhabiting a world of sub-$1K computers. The technology comes from the Intel's high-end server products, a Xeon processor core, dubbed Gallatin, with 2MB of on-chip L3 cache.

Le-vel-three.

Thermalright XP-120 Heatsink Review

Published by Newsfactory 0

OCIA.net has posted a review of the Thermalright XP-120 Heatsink. Below is a direct quote from the review:

The first step is pretty simple; lay down the included plastic bracket, and screw it in place -- if your backplate is glued on like mine, you don't even have to remove your motherboard for this. Then of course you would apply a thin layer of thermal grease to the CPU.

ABIT AV8 (K8T800 Pro socket 939) Motherboard Review @ 3DXtreme

Published by Newsfactory 0

The ABIT AV8 performed very well, battling with the Soltek K8T800 Pro board for much of this review. The stock performance of the K8T800 Pro chipset seems to be consistent across the motherboards we used thus showing no clear winner. The AV8 has features galore and can be found online for only $111. Overclocking was the key here as this board has working AGP/PCI locks allowing us to briefly hit a 270 MHz FSB and I was actually able to game at 265 FSB x 9.
