I-Star 400W + 400W Redundant PSU Review

Published by Newsfactory 0

OCIA.net checks out the I-Star 400W + 400W Redundant ATX PSU in their latest review.

One thing to note here is that both power supplies are fed from the same AC source. I-Star also has redundant power supplies that have two AC inputs so that you can hook one input up to a battery backup and one to a backup generator if you absolutely have to guarantee the system will not shut down due to power loss. For this project however, one AC input will work just fine as I am not running a corporate server off of this power supply.

AMD's Athlon 64 FX-53 Processor

Published by Newsfactory 1

Just got word from our bro's over at Driver Heaven and the TechReport! that their Athlon 64 FX-53 CPUs reviews are out.

APPARENTLY, the Athlon 64 FX-51 processor wasn't enough. This $733 former Opteron, converted into a desktop chip just to put the smack down on Intel, was no slouch. In fact, it abused our benchmarks throughout its tenure, making its sky-high price seem almost reasonable. Now, however, a new model, the Athlon 64 FX-53, is replacing the FX-51 wholesale.

Zalman ZM400-APS PSU @ Datafuse.net

Published by Newsfactory 0

Here we are once again with a PSU review. Second one this month. When seeing zalman jump from the 300Watt PSU to the 400Watt one, I was a bit scared they would directly introduce a 500Watt PSU. I'm glad they didn't, instead they seemed to have updated an already top notch product the ZM400A-APF.

Corsair TwinX1024-3200LLPro 1Gig DDR400 Dual Channel Memory Kit @ Tweaknews

Published by Newsfactory 0

Being one of the premier performance memory manufacturers in the world, Corsair provided Tweaknews.net with a 1Gig sample of their representative TwinX PC3200LL PRO Dual Channel DDR memory to test. The version of the DDR400 standard boasts low latency timings of 2-6-3-2, but what really separates it from the pack is the inclusion of activity LEDs which would be a great addition to a windowed case. Although this memory is meant to be used in its stock speed, we wouldn't be called tweakers if we didn't try to see what extra free performance we could squeeze out of this unique purchase. As you will see later on in the review, I was able to push this memory to some nice speeds. Onto the review.....

Arctic Cooling Super Silent 4ProL Heatsink Review

Published by [NT] 0

OCIA.net checks out the Arctic-Cooling Super Silent 4ProL heatsink in their latest review. Below is a direct quote from the review:

"Installtion of the 4ProL was one of the easiest I've ever done, even easier than Intel's retail P4 heatsink, which has been praised by many, including myself. Installation of the 4ProL was as easy as adding some thermal compound to the processor, placing the heatsink between the retention bracket, and pushing the 4 clips onto the 4 retention posts. The clips only require a little pressure to seat them into position, and makes the heatsink seat firmly to the processor, without using excessive pressure."
