Published by [PM] 0

T-Break has published the review for Epox's latest KT333 chipset based motherboard- the 8K3A+. Here's a bit from the review: Epox gained quite a repudiation for overclocking with it's previous Athlon boards and the 8K3A+ follows the lead. You have the option of increasing the VCore all the way up to 2.25V and the memory voltage to an astonishing 3.4V. Combine this with FSB speeds upto 200MHz and you have a killer overclocking system. Eizo FlexScan F931 21'' Monitor Review!

Published by [PM] 0

This time we took Eizo's CRT Business Line top model to the test. CRT monitors still offer significant advantages compared to LCD flat screens when it comes to fast moving pictures e.g. when watching DVD's or DivX videos or when it comes to gaming. This advantage has its origin in the delay time that LCD crystals need to adjust themselves when stimulated by electric impulses which results in a blurry image when displaying fast moving content. The Eizo Flexscan F931 with it's 31.0kg weight is certainly one of the bigger if not one of the biggest competitors in the CRT monitor market but in our opinion is one of the most desirable one's because of it's excellent technological features like the capability to display a resolution of 1600 dots x 1200 lines flicker-free at 104 Hz which is most ergonomic and eye pleasing or the ability to connect two PC's to the monitor. If you now feel like your old 17'' CRT monitor has grown of ages maybe it's time to head for a bigger one. Warp 2 the review

Hercules Radeon 8500LE Review!

Published by NewsFactory 0

T-Break has published a review of the Hercules 3D Prophet FDX 8500LE graphics card, based on the ATI Radeon 8500 chipset with a clock/core speed of 250MHz. Here's a bit from the review:
----------
We recently took a look at the ATI 8500DV card offered inside a Hercules box and we say that because it was literally that- an ATI card with an ATI manual and an ATI drivers CD inside a Hercules box. Although the card was very impressive - offering awesome features and pretty good performance, we were somewhat disappointed to NOT find "Hercules Inside." Thus, we sort of prepared ourselves when we got the call from the local distributor informing us of the arrival of a sales sample of the 3D Prophet FDX 8500 LE.

Gainward GeForce4 Ti4600 Review!

Published by NewsFactory 0

tbreak published a review of Gainward's GeForce 4 Ti4600 graphics card and compared it to the ASUS GF4 Ti4600. Here's a bit from the review:

----------

Gainward was a relatively unknown company until GeForce 2 came along. Since then, they've been extremely successful at producing "tweaked up" GeForce cards offering faster core and memory speeds. In-fact, their last GeForce3 card (Power Pack !!! Jumbo) was the first-ever card in the world to offer 128MB RAM on the card. Needless to say, they have gotten the full attention of the hard-core DIY enthusiasts who push for getting the maximum out of their system.

They allow you to carry you CPU, monitor and accessories. These product would be great for the LAN party goer or a service tech that needs their computer and monitor with them. With 3 pockets available to you I am sure you can find a place to stash almost anything. The large pocket on the CTSS can handle even the largest of keyboards, with room to spare.

64MB EasyDisk Micro USB Hard drive review Easy disk is a very great idea, basically it is a large amount of storage that can be accessed thru any USB port. This means transferring files from one place to another doesn't involve small floppies, or both computers having a zip drive. These drives are also bootable so you could put your windows batch files, drivers and OS install utilities on it

CrystalFontz 20x4 LCD Display reviewed The last time I reviewed an LCD display was on the 24th of May, last year. I reviewed the Matrix Orbital LCD, and I was fairly happy with it, up until till it broke. I sent it back for repairs and they wanted about $60 bucks to fix it! What kind of warranty is that? I hope things go better with this CrystalFontz display. This display is a 20x4 display, which means it can have 4 lines with 20 characters across each line. It's fairly large, large enough to take up two 5.25" bays!

Hercules 3D Prophet All-In-Wonder 8500 DV Review!

Published by [PM] 0

T-Break has posted their review of Hercules' AIW card. Hercules has recently switched from Nvidia GPUs to ATI and is now exclusively manufacturing those. Well what else is there to say than a snip of the review: Also, before we start the review, we would like to mention that about the only thing that's "Hercules" about this product is the box. Everything else including the card, the drivers CD and the manual is an actual ATI version. We were a bit disappointed about this as we were hoping for Hercules drivers and manuals, however, that will only happen when the high performance 8500 card is released by Hercules and not this all-in-wonder version. Basically, this product is exactly the same as an ATI Radeon 8500DV- the only difference being that it's inside a Hercules box instead of an ATI box. With that said, lets take a look at the specifications. Warp 2 the review

Adobe Photoshop 7 Beta Review!

Published by [PM] 0

CNET editor Lori Grunin has taken the italian stallion among graphics editing software for a ride. This time it's the latest beta of the upcoming version 7. Here is a bite of what he/she found out: Every new version of Photoshop has delivered significant, noteworthy improvements. Witness: Photoshop 4.0 unveiled Layers and Actions; Photoshop 5.0 brought us the History Palette and Layer Styles; Photoshop 6.0 introduced Shapes. Hence, Photoshop 7.0's perfunctory, should-have-been-there-earlier enhancements, such as the new file browser, are a bit of a letdown. Based on our look at the beta, the final Photoshop 7.0 release won't be a must-have upgrade for all graphics professionals. But, as far as graphics apps go, Photoshop is still the best, most sophisticated image-editing software available. Photoshop 7 is scheduled for a release next quarter.
