Logitech Cordless Comfort Duo

Published by Newsfactory 0

DiscGamer.com unleashed another hardware review, this time they take a look at the Logitech's Cordless Comfort Duo and determine if it's worthy of your gaming system or not..

What really sets this combo apart from other cordless kits from Logitech or other companies, is the ergonomic keyboard, which is great if you spend a lot of time typing like I do. The split and angled sides of the keyboard allow for a more natural position when typing, taking the pressure off of your wrists, which should help prevent the onset of carpel tunnel syndrome and other degenerative problems that can develop from repetitive stress to your hands and wrists.

Thermaltake Smart Case Fan II review at RipNet-UK

Published by Newsfactory 0

You should be controlling your computer, rather than it running the show. If you're going to have a stable PC then it is important to keep your system temperatures down as low as possible, as well as your CPU temperature.

And so Thermaltake are now producing controllable fans to cool computer cases specifically. Their Smart case fan II can be used as a powerful alternative to a standard case fan, and also as a CPU fan, found on Thermaltake's Volcano 9 and 11 series of heatsinks. As well as bringing temperature control to your fingertips the Smart Fan provides the added bonus of reducing noise...

Roundup of 9 GeForce FX based videocards

Published by Newsfactory 0

Nordic Hardware.com sends word that their 9 card GeForce FX roundup has been posted! Here's a snip.

Today we'll be looking at nine GeForce FX-based videocards. One 5200 Ultra, one 5600, three 5600 Ultras, three 5900's and finally one 5900 Ultra. The three boards we'll use for comparison are Radeon 9600 Pro, 9800 and 9800 Pro. (We won't use Radeon 9200 Pro since the 5200 Ultra reviewed today is even more expensive than a Radeon 9600 Pro and thus would make it a very unfair comparison.)

Acousti Case - Zalmans CNPS7000A-Cu - Logitech MX 310 Optical Mice

Published by Newsfactory 0

Silence is indeed golden. Now that computers are being used increasingly throughout the home people are becoming less and less happy to endure the constant droning emitted by modern high-powered PC's. Consequently a number of innovations have been made to help with noise reduction, probably one of the first to hit the mainstream being variable-speed cooling fans. Now cases are also being produced with peace and quiet featuring highly on their list of design priorities.

Today at RipNet-UK we are pleased to bring you our review of the Acousticase from Quiet PC. Is this case going to be the answer to your headaches?

3-Way Thermal Interface Material Shootout

Published by Newsfactory 0

With processors and video boards getting more powerful, they are also getting considerably hotter. Anyone with a computer needs to take a look at cooling. But there is more to this topic than just a good heatsink. There also has to be a manner to transfer the heat built up from the processor TO that good heatsink. This is where a good Thermal Interface Material (TIM) comes into play. Come join TweakTown's Mike "Darthtanion" Wright as he pits Arctic Silver III against OCZ Ultra II against Arctic Silver Ceramique. Who knows, the results just might surprise you!

Cooler Master Wave Master Case

Published by Newsfactory 0

VR-Zone Hardware has just posted a review for Cooler Master's new Wave Master aluminum case, a really kickass case that you should check out!

The top panel of the case is where you would traditionally find an exhaust fan in Cooler Master's premium cases but instead of another 80mm fan Cooler Master decided to put two USB 2.0, Firewire, Microphone, and Headphone ports. This is particularly useful if your computer case is under your desk as the inputs are closer to you.

Corsair TwinX1024 PC4000 Memory - Antec TrueControl 550

Published by Newsfactory 0

Today Viper Lair takes a look at Corsair's latest TWINX kit, which matches a pair of XMS4000 modules. 500MHz anyone?

To be able to run your ram 1:1 at 272FSB is simply amazing. When we pushed to 272, MemTest failed, but the system still ran. The TWINX didn't seem to like any timing adjustments at this speed though, as we could never stay stable once we got into Windows.

Thermaltake Volcano 11+ Xaser Edition CPU Cooler

Published by Newsfactory 4

The world of the CPU cooler is a busy old place - new developments are constantly appearing, and we could probably run a whole website just reviewing coolers if we wanted to? not so long ago a CPU cooler would be a basic lump of extruded aluminium with a fan screwed on top (probably emitting an ear-splitting howl if you went for a preformance model). But now your cooler may have LED's added, weird and wonderful heatpipe designs, and perhaps speed control as well.

Today RipNet-UK brings you a review of the latest customisable cooler from one of the market leaders, the ThermalTake Volcano 11+. This features variable fan speed control and interchangeable grilles...

NVIDIA Quadro FX 3000 In 3DS Max 5

Xbitlabs have thrown up their Quadro FX 3000 in 3ds max 5 review, where they compare the latest professional graphics card from Nvidia in the shape of the Quadro FX 3000 against the Quadro FX 2000 (based on GeForce 5800 Ultra), FireGL X1 (based on RADEON 9700 PRO) and a GeForce FX 5900 Ultra based gaming card. Here's a snip:

July 22, 2003, NVIDIA announced its new ?professional? graphics card ? Quadro FX 3000 based on the GeForce FX 5900 Ultra GPU. There was the usual blowing-out of cheeks and words like ?uncompromising?, ?universal for pro applications? and even ?unique? (although this same product costing thousand dollars differs from its game mate in the drivers only).

VIA's PT800 and SiS's 648FX Chipsets

Published by Newsfactory 2

The Tech Report have thrown up their VIA's PT800 and SiS's 648FX Chipsets Review! which asks the question can these single-channel chipsets solution from Via and SIS compete with Intel's 800MHz dual-channel chipsets? Here's a snip.

The most striking thing about our benchmark results is, undoubtedly, the eye-opening performance of the VIA PT800 chipset. Even in places where we expected a single-channel solution to lag?3D gaming, speech recognition, video encoding?the PT800 excels. The PT800 is generally faster than Intel's 865PE chipset, and it gives the 875P a run for its (copious amounts of) money. No, the PT800 isn't the world-beater that the 875P is, but VIA is expected to deliver a dual-channel chipset before long to contend for that title.
