When you flip the drive over to its backside, you can see that the new SATA drives have different data and power connections, when comparing them to the old Parallel ATA standards. Also like mentioned before, the wires are very flexible and thin, and they will only fit one way, so the risk of damaging the drive by improper installation is almost non existent.

VR-Zone Hardware has posted a review of the MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4600 8X AGP graphics card, or the MSI G4Ti4600-VT2D8X as they like to call it.

MSI's latest card based on the GeForce 4 Ti4800 or Ti4600 with 8X AGP GPU is one of the best bundled package around. However this card is probably the last from MSI after the recent soured relationship with NVIDIA.

The Albatron PX845PEV Pro kept pace with the Asus P4PE throughout all of the Performance Testing that we submitted both boards too. The difference in performance was negligible, however it's the cost that makes the Albatron PX845PEV Pro a true winner. The Albatron PX845PEV Pro can be purchased for around $85 online, the Asus P4PE sells for around $120. Considering the performance, price and overclockability of the Albatron PX845PEV Pro I see no reason in not suggesting this motherboard to anyone looking for a Intel P4 motherboard upgrade. This just in from NordicHardware: Creative just recently launched their newest addition in the Sound Blaster family. The new soundcard is an improved version of the Audigy2 and goes buy the name Creative Audigy2 Platinum eX. With support for ASIO 2.0 24/96 recording and a newly developed I/O box the card has some real potential. And at NordicHardware folks are very proud to be the first IT media in the world that can offer their readers a review of this new and powerful soundcard from Creative. In there review they have pitted the card against the basic Audigy2 model and try to find out how much the two cards separate.

This is simply the best keyboard and mouse combo I've ever owned. With optical and wireless technology, Logitech nailed this one.

About a month ago, I found a deal at Fat Wallet that I couldn't pass up. I managed to pick up three Logitech Elite Duos for around $17 each and some other stuff with it. I made a killing IMO. Anyway, I've been using the Duo for about a month now and I'm fairly certain that this is the keyboard and mouse I'll be sticking with for awhile.

VR-Zone Hardware has posted a review of the Silver Inferno Case by CrazyPC. The Silver Inferno is based on the popular Lian Li PC-602 case and is one of the nicest cases in appearance with a great flaming skull mod on the side panel, a window on the top of the case, front side USB and the great look and feel.

One feature I definitely like is that the entire top panel of the case is removable too. This can help in both general installation of components, but also for modding the panel since you can completely separate it from the rest of the case. Good place for a small radiator perhaps.

I really liked the e-Cube. There are a few minor problems with the design. Firstly the Keyboard/Mouse PS2 port on the front. I mean why?? (Well it does have TV-Out so I can not complain much :-) ). Secondly the BIOS battery fouls some graphics cards, especially the Geforce TI range of cards. Other than that, I feel that along with its size, excellent performance as a standalone PC as well as a Home Theatre PC box the s-Cube CF-S968 is an excellent product. Another good point is that they chose to put the Optical out on the Rear of the box. Now that is good thinking :-).

DriverHeaven today looks at a Radeon 9500 Pro card from Sapphire Technology. I have to admit that this card is a real winner for what it can do at its current price. Cheaper then GeForce4 Ti4600 or Ti4800SE, it comes close performace wise to these cards and should not be ignored just because it's not made by Nvidia. Anyway, here's a short quote from the review:

"The 9500 Pro was originally dubbed a killer for a rival product namely the 'Ti4200' but in nearly all tests carried out by myself and by other reviewers and of course the public, this card can be seen giving the 'Ti4600' a run for its money. In terms of increasing the performance of your PC adding this card to your system can be assured to be the right move, I was astounded by how much better games played on my system, just by adding the card, When asking 'What should I upgrade?' I would be inclined to say more RAM or more processing power, but after witnessing the transformation to the system from this card, I now have to say I would recommend looking to the graphics if you want that burst of energy in your system."

StorageReview has taken Maxtor's latest offering for a spin in their testing grounds. Here is a snip: Succeeding the DiamondMax D740X, the DM+9 is Maxtor's entry into the high-performance desktop drive arena. Currently, the drive comes in the traditional parallel ATA format with an ATA-133 interface. Maxtor eventually plans to offer Serial ATA versions of the drive. SR has received varying reports from readers regarding Maxtor's current warranty policy. According to the manufacturer itself, however, all DM+9s are backed by a one-year warranty. Maxtor is rolling out a separate line, the Maxline Plus, that incorporates similar mechanics but is backed by a longer three-year policy.

Doobey dooo sends word that VR-Zone has just posted their review of Sapphiretech's Radeon 9700 Pro Ultimate Edition graphics card! Here's a snip.

With the "Ultimate Edition" series of graphics cards, Sapphire is looking to capitalize on the hardcore enthusiast market they missed out on with their first release of the 9700 Pro, as that release was essentially a clone of the ATI version, without ramsinks and using the standard red PCB we've all come too accustomed to. This time around however, Sapphire spiced things up by including a gaming bundle, ramsinks, and a very unique heatsink that actually has no moving parts, which will be looked into more thoroughly later on in the review.

To my rescue starting several years ago comes thermal label printers; now available in all shapes, label sizes, power usage (battery and wall socket), input style (built-in or computer keyboard interface) and price ranges. One such model is the DYMO LabelMANAGER PC shown to the left. It is a simple, elegant design able to use several sizes (1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1") of label cassettes in a varity of color combinations.The difference between this type of thermal labelmaker and the one that most users are familiar with is that this uses a thermal plastic tape in a cassette holder instead of a roll of thermal paper.
