AMD Athlon XP 2300+ vs Intel Pentium 4-3000!

Published by [NT] 0

I saw this review @ Tom's Hardware. Here is a snippet:
It might sound like a standard topic, but in reality it's quite dramatic: the AMD Athlon XP 2300+ challenges the Intel Pentium 4/3000. We've overclocked these two processors to the extreme, and in the end, they bedazzle with performances that will not be available on the market for another nine months. After all, with their latest offerings, the two manufacturers tout their respective processors as representatives of maximum performance levels. The task of coaxing that maximum performance out of the two competitors presented us with a particular challenge, but it was all done under conditions for absolutely stable operation.
They overclocked these CPU's. And they compared them.

Creative SoundBlaster Extigy Review!

Published by NewsFactory 0

I was just over @ T-Breaker.com and I noticed they have a review for Creative's new Extigy! Looks cool I got to say.

Here's a byte from their review:

Think of a Sound Card. Now think of this sound card as one that can be hooked up to your PC through the USB port instead of popping it in a PCI slot inside your computer. Add to this, the option of using this sound card without a PC- or in other words, directly connecting it to your home entertainment center like an amplifier. That, in a nutshell, is Extigy.

Envy News Reviews Zen CPU Radiator!

Published by NewsFactory 0

The Zen CPU Radiator is one of these exotic heatsinks that uses a fairly new cooling method (for CPU's anyway). While the name gives away its special distinguishing feature, the heatlane radiator used to transfer heat from CPU to the surrounding air isn't your average radiator.

nVidia Detonator 27.20 Performance Comparison!

Published by [NT] 31

So I've tested this driver. I challenged it against Detonator 23.11, 27.00 & 27.10.
This was a good test for my new mainboard (Epox 8KHA+). Damn that board is stable as hell!
But now for the tests. I tested the drivers with 3DMark2001 with all options on. And I can say the 27.20 rocks!

Envy News has a review of CoolingFlow's gold-plated Athlon XP CPU Shim.
Sporting a design that allows the placement of a thermistor probe, this excellent metal shim protects your AMD XP investment against ghastly and unwanted core destruction. Plenty of pics that compare the ProtectorXP with shims from Tweakmonster, XMP and Thermaltake.

VideoCards with 128MB Memory Tested!!

Published by [NT] 5

On Digit-Life i saw this review. And this is what they've said:
Our tests show that a lot of tough games have such great size of textures that a 64 MBytes card is able to perform much better than a 32 MBytes card. Such memory excellently go with expensive accelerators (GeForce3, RADEON 8500), however it is also often installed on low-end cards (GeForce2 MX200, MX400) with the advertising purposes, where such memory is unnecessary as a bottleneck here is not a size but a memory bandwidth.
It's Really a Worth to look

Logitech Wingman 3D Force Feedback joystick!

Just got an email from matt@OverclockersClub.com that he's just finished his Logitech Wingman 3D Force Feedback joystick review.

Here's what he's saying

I have just completed a review on the Logitech Wingman 3D Force Feedback joystick. This thing is really nice! It's a major upgrade from my old Thrustmaster, but without paying a high price!

Flight sim and action game fans looking for a good, all-in-one joystick with a little extra oomph should check out Logitech's Wingman Force 3D. With a comfortable design, incredibly versatile driver software, and a relatively compact footprint, it knocks Microsoft's first-generation Force Feedback stick off the desk, literally

Eleven 3DCards tested with AquaNox

Published by [NT] 0

On TomsHardware i saw this, and this is what they've said:
"The German game developer Massive drew a great deal of attention to itself during the early stages of NVIDIA's GeForce 3 launch with its game, Aquanox. NVIDIA had announced a developer contest of sorts, which called on developers to create demos and benchmarks to show off the GF3's capabilities. Of course, the main requirement for these programs was that they should utilize the chip's pixel and vertex shaders. Massive entered the fray with its own benchmark, AquaMark, facing competition in the form of Ballistics, Dronez and X-Isle, among others."

Envy News Reviews MouseMan Dual Optical & Belkin 4-Port Cable/DSL Router!

Published by NewsFactory 0

In an effort to quell the masses with a better gaming mouse, Logitech went to work on the drawing board to attempt to recreate a newer and better optical mouse. Needless to say, many months later, they unearthed a shiny new testament to the input control Gods. In what may become the 'reference standard' for optical mice, Logitech devised the MouseMan Dual Optical mouse.

OCZ Goliath Review!

Published by [NT] 0

Tristan over @ NvMax made a review about the OCZ Goliath cooler.
Here is a scoop:
I've got four 80mm case fans pushing about 30CFM a piece as well. When I got my case they used to sell them with 80mm's. Also, as I mentioned previously in the Dominator review, the A7V doesn't have a thermal diode in the center of the Ziff Socket like most other Socket462 motherboards do. It instead uses a Thermal sensor which attaches to the motherboard, and.... Read more

Envy News Reviews ABIT KR7A-RAID Motherboard!

Published by NewsFactory 0

Well it is about time! I am not talking about my review of the KR7A but ABIT's release of the motherboard (although the same could be said of me). I like many of you sat and watched the other manufactures come to market with their versions of the KT266A motherboard, and kept wondering and, for that matter, pestering ABIT's marketing team for a sample to review. After my review of the KG7-Lite and all the wonderful success I had I just couldn't wait to get my hands on the KT266A. Actually, because it took me so long to get the KG7, I was actually looking forward to the KR7A while I was writing up my findings.

Evercool CUD-725 solid copper heatsink review!

Published by NewsFactory 0

Matt from the overclockersclub has let me know that he's just finished his Evercool CUD-725 solid copper heatsink review!!

Here's a bite from his review

Copper is much better at removing heat from a CPU than aluminum but tends to be a lot expensive. Aluminum heatsinks are slowly fading away, but I don't think they will really ever go away because aluminum is a lot cheaper than copper, therefore people on a budget would want to go with an aluminum heatsink. For an overclocker a copper heatsink has almost became a necessity for best success. Aluminum heatsinks has an advantage over a copper heatsink. Why? Because copper heatsinks retains heat a lot longer than aluminum does. That is why you should use a high powered fan on any copper heatsink, to trasnfer the heat faster. Today, I will be reviewing the CUD-725 heatsink, which is manufactured by, EverCool.com.tw. This is the first heatsink that we have reviewed from EverCool.com.tw, so let's jump in to the review and see how well this solid copper heatsink performs.
