Apple Releases iTunes For Windows XP

As i was recovering from Winamp5 beta run , i bumped into this news . Apple has released their very popular (and legal) Mp3 distribution software iTunes for Windows XP. I installed it and was greeted with the brushed metal finishing all over the software window. (for me , first impression is everyting); I would had love the Milk theme . There is big anticipation among MP3 users about Winamp5 as it promises the simplicity and sleekness of Winamp2.X and iCandiness of Winamp3. If you're looking for a small player that's easy to take with you and still provides you with a superb sound quality than this is really the player for you! The small AAA battery will last for about 8 to 10 houres with this player. The only bad things that I could find about this player was it's slow data transfer, the fact that the backlight of the LCD screen only works 3 seconds and it's price of $150 which is a little bit too much for a player with only 64MB Ram in my opinion.

Lame 3.93.1 has been released. Following the great history of GNU naming, LAME originally stood for LAME Ain't an Mp3 Encoder. LAME started life as a GPL'd patch against the dist10 ISO demonstration source, and thus was incapable of producing an mp3 stream or even being compiled by itself. But in May 2000, the last remnants of the ISO source code were replaced, and now LAME is the source code for a fully GPL'd MP3 encoder, with speed and quality to rival all commercial competitors.
