Just got word from Haddad that he's just posted his new Soldier of Fortune 2 tweak guide! Here's what he's saying.

Here at TechSpot, we've finally got around to posting our Soldier Of Fortune II Tweak Guide, dealing with loads of in-game settings & commands. Currently the guide is more oriented at the Single player game given people have more problems with that.

VR-Zone has tested out the newly released Madonion 3DMark 2001 Second Edition build 330 that is able to support AGP 8X and cards with pixel shader but no vertex shader like the SiS Xabre 400.

Now Advanced Pixel Shader test was able to run and the Xabre 400 therefore is able to complete the whole 3DMark tests. We have quickly checked out the 3DMark performance of the Xabre 400 against the GeForce3 Ti200 and GeForce4 MX440.

The guys over at geekextreme.com had some time to kill, so they put the previous Nvidia Detonator drivers (version 28.32) up against the newest version (29.42) to see if there was any performance improvements, or if it rolled backwards. How'd they do? Check it out

A new revision of our 3D GameGauge performance test suite has been a long time coming. We all know that most of the current games used as benchmarks are getting very long in the tooth. Quake 3, although a great engine that can still power compelling games, is perhaps the poster child of a basic problem: we've been using the same games to test for far too long, and many new and powerful 3D features capable of being processed by our high-speed PCs and graphics boards are not being utilized.

It seems there are two issues with the current Highpoint driver / BIOS release 2.31 for their RAID controllers utilized on Abit motherboards and others. At least some users report a broken System Restore feature in Windows XP and some users also find their harddisk performance lowered may it be RAID or not although Highpoint claims to have improved performance with the current release.

The new version from today is: 6.13.10.6071. Apparently this is the same version as the developer driver leaked a few weeks ago. We have tested the new driver set with 3DMark2001 SE, Codecreatures Benchmark Pro, GLExcess and Aquamark. Read more to check out the results as well as some additional info.

If you are afraid of being hacked or of having your computer invaded here's a PC tip from Digital Oracle.

If you use a firewall you can see what and whom is accessing your computer. Also if you are using a Windows NT based computer, such as NT4/2000/XP, there is another way of see who and what is connected to your computer, complete with location. This program is called netstat which you can access via the command prompt. Then just type netstat 10 and every 10 seconds you can see exactly what is connected to your computer. Very useful and ever more if u combine it with a tracer and a firewall. Anyway your choice.

A comparison of memory bandwidth at 133Mhz FSB 133FSB with 166Mhz memory and pure 166Mhz FSB memory bandwidth compared. A bit of ranting at the manufacturers.

If you'd like to know how much more bandwidth you'll see by using a 166Mhz FSB then give this article at least a look!
