3Dgamers.com reports that Activision sends along new patches for Return to Castle Wolfenstein, bringing the WWII first-person shooter by Gray Matter and Nerve Software to version 1.41. This is an incremental update from v1.4 or v1.33, addressing a "bug in Anti-lag weapon prediction code" and "miscellaneous issues in anti-lag code." The patch comes in Win32 and Linux flavors, and are accompanied by the game source distribution for Linux (with the Win32 version).

ID's upcoming DOOM III engine promises to introduce some new advances in ease-of-use and long-term mod friendliness. DOOM III's level editor will be built into the game. This will allow for complex processing in real-time, like modifying light maps within the engine without having to back out and recompile code. During the keynote address at this year's QuakeCon, John Carmack hinted that content created for DOOM III will be able to carry over to the next generation of technology.

Game studio Bioware has released the latest update installment for their critically acclaimed 3D roleplaying game Neverwinter Nights based on the 3rd edition of AD&D rules. The patch file is available for English, German, French, Italian and Spanish editions of the game.
