Just got word from our friends at Station-Drivers.com that they've snagged a new Creative Sound Blaster Live & Audigy Driver version 512.12.4.285 WHQL from IBM for Windows 2000/XP. I expect that these need some editing to be able to install. Almost all drivers since .253 were not compatible with the Soundblaster Audigy software including SurroundMixer, AudioHQ etc. Alternatively Audigy users might opt for the latest official .383 drivers.

Tweakers4u posted their Catalyst 3.5 performance comparison last week where they compared the latest Catalyst 3.5 drivers against the Catalyst drivers 3.2 and 3.4.

Voyetra has released a BETA driver for the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card v5.12.4193 for Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP.

Two major issues forced ATI to work on a hotfix for their recently released Catalyst driver suite. The first resolved issue was Radeon 9100 series not working at all in OpenGL. The second fixes partly transparent and flickering objects in Neverwinter Nights.

Logitech has released a small update patch for their iTouch keyboard drivers. The patch alters the file players.ini to provide correct functionality with Winamp 3.x and Real One player.

Creative Labs finally managed to deliver a new driver set for the original Audigy series. This is a split up release that should contain 5 parts from which 3 are already available. Unfortunately there is no update for the Creative Surround Mixer and the Creative Diagnostics. I hope that the new drivers will work with these two apps none the less. It looks like Gigabyte has released a new version of the VIA Hyperion drivers. VIA Hyperion drivers are suitable for any VIA chipset and all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. Hyperion driver sets include INF, AGP, IDE and IRQ related drivers. You can download version 4.48 at this Gigabyte website.

Update: VIA now has officially released the 4.48 package. Don't get too excited however - there's no new driver files within the package. This version fixes a setup issue while S-ATA function was disabled under Windows 9x. You can grab them over here (HTTP)

Matrox has released a new driver set for their Parhelia series including budget P650 and P750 cards. The driver is valid for Win 2K/XP. The new version number is 1.04.02.007. Update: The driver has been officially announced and it is WHQL certified. It has been uploaded to Matrox's FTP on June 16th. From the same date and also only available via FTP download, comes a new Parhelia series BIOS version 1.03.00.006.

Holy cow! This is the first time ever since the start of the Catalyst program, invoked by Senior Software Manager Terry Makedon, that a 'beta' driver has escaped the watchtower of ATI. 3DChipset was daring enough to host the drivers on their servers for some hours. They had to take down the files because ATI asked them to. Warp2Search has been approached as early as June 17th with the request to host the files. However as we had serious issues with our server we were not able to provide them. I have been speaking with Terry Makedon about the possible source of the drivers and ATI is investigating the 'leak' at this time. Mr. Makedon asked me to pass the following information on to our readers: These are not CATALYST 3.5 but some interim OEM driver. 3DChipset tries to sell you these as Catalyst anyway, but let me assure you, they are not. This morning we have uncovered a new, previously unreleased Nvidia Detonator driver version 44.65. This is the latest known build from the 44.xx series. This driver is a generic release and works for RIVA TNT, GeForce, Geforce 2, GeForce 3 + 4, the 'Ti' range of cards, GeForce FX and some Quadro cards.
