I've just bought a brand new AverMedia DVB-T Digital TV PC Card (PCI). I say brand new, its been out for a while, but I have just bought it from PC World.

I can't get the damn thing working.
I'm plugged it into my PCI slot, (PCI 2.2) and loaded XP. it found the card, and I've installed the correct drivers (even tried latest drivers on manufacturer's website). Installed the program software, but when I load it, it can't get a signal from my Aerial. There is a signal because I watch TV from it. And it does send Digital signals too.
The card also has an S-Video connector, and a Composite connector. I've tried both of these with various things like my VCR and DVD Player (which are all compatible with the card) but the program still doesn't get a signal at all from anything.

What can I be doing wrong?
Would a Bios setting help? or a Windows XP patch maybe?

I'm running Windows XP, fresh install, with Radeon 9600 (non-pro), K7-S8XE motherboard, all with latest drivers and bios.

I'm really stuck, as PC World couldn't help when I questioned the guy at the help counter, and I'm not ringing the £1/min phone service just to get no help from them either.

PLEASE HELP!

I have one of the DVB-T cards and an All in Wonder 9800 in one machine, and I've seen this problem with the ATI card (but it was probably occurring with the DVB-T at the same time, dunno as I don't really use it much)

Anyway my problem was a DirectX issue with PAL TV cards that the following update solved:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;825116

so give that a try...

< HOWEVER - it didn't fix the problem properly; I had to manually search my system for all occurrences of Kstvtune.ax and make sure they were all the exact same version - ah you gotta love windows >

you're right 'bout PC world support ... stay well clear!
I registered here today to point you to the answer - how's that for tech support LOL!
