zzDiffusion Screensaver puts random overlapping shapes on your screen that blur and fade.

It fills the screen with color and seemingly random shapes. But don't let the simplicity of this app fool you, Javier's inspiration for this screensaver is actually based on the diffusion equation which is a partial differential equation that can be solved into a finite differences scheme. In physics, it illustrates the behavior of the collective motion of micro-particles in a material resulting from the random movement of each microparticle. So, putting that into screensaver terms, it can be concluded that the next color is the average of the colors around - thus the screensaver does the average of pixels up, down, left, right and self.

zzDiffusion Screensaver comes in a zip file as a .scr, which is typical of most screensavers. To use it, right-click on zzDiffusion.scr after extracting it from the zip file and select "Install" or "Test" to preview it before installing. Also from there, the screensaver settings can be configured like using colorful shapes or your desktop as the screensaver image. It additionally lists the current OS that the screensaver is being run on from the configuration menu window.
