Webroot DE-BUG can scan your computer for problems if you are experiencing pop-ups, redirects or a modified home page.

Webroot DE-BUG is portable and simple to use. From the main window, you will see an overview as well as options to Scan, History, Settings, and About. The settings aren't well explained although a few options are apparent including Winsock, Browser Shortcuts, Flush DNS, Proxy, and Firewall. Our guess would be to use the Select All option here.

Settings become a little more clear when you scan. Webroot DE-BUG will scan the registry, folders, files, Firefox, Chrome, Tasks, IE, and Services, in that order.

The scan was quick for us and flagged an IObit registry key, an obvious false positive. We have IObit Uninstaller and Driver Booster on our machines and have for years. Also, false positives discovered include our Extensions, User Data on Google Chrome.

Knowing our computer was clean, we were disappointed to find the false positives from the app including our extensions. It strikes us as lazy from the definition side of things. That all said, if you have a computer with a severe infection, this could be the missing link. On a badly infected computer, you'll probably be reinstalling apps and extensions when you're done anyhow so in these situations, so Webroot DE-BUG could be the over-the-top solution you need.
