Remi Collet has released updated PHP packages for Fedora and RHEL-based Linux distributions, specifically versions 8.1.33, 8.2.29, 8.3.23, and 8.4.10. These packages can be found in the remi-modular repository and are available for both x86_64 and aarch64 architectures. Notably, PHP version 8.0 has reached its end of life and will no longer receive maintenance.

The new versions include critical security fixes for three vulnerabilities (CVE-2025-1220, CVE-2025-1735, CVE-2025-6491), making it highly advisable for users to update. Each version’s respective release announcements can be accessed for more information.

For installation, users can utilize the Configuration Wizard to select their desired version and installation mode. Options include replacing the default PHP version with version 8.4 through a simple command or performing a parallel installation.

In addition to these updates, the RPMs built for different Enterprise Linux (EL) versions reflect their corresponding RHEL versions, ensuring compatibility. Notable changes include the intl extension adopting libicu74 and the mbstring extension updating to use oniguruma5php. Furthermore, the oci8 extension now employs the Oracle Instant Client version 23.8.

For those migrating from earlier versions, additional resources have been provided to assist in the transition from PHP 8.2.x to 8.3.x and from 8.3.x to 8.4.x.

As the PHP ecosystem continues to evolve, it is essential for developers and system administrators to stay informed about the latest updates and security patches to maintain optimal performance and security in their applications
