FunkyKit takes a look at the Lexar NM610 M.2 2280 NVME SSD

A quote from the article:
Today I will be reviewing the Lexar NM610 M.2 2280 SSD. This is their latest iteration on the 3.0 PCIe technology. We have just really started to break into the 4.0 that is because it is just now becoming the standard on new chipsets. I am still rocking a board that doesn’t have support for the 4.0. So I am excited to see manufacturers still producing new products for those of us behind the new tech. Theoretically the fastest speed achievable on the 3.0 is roughly 3500 MB/s. While on the other hand with 4.0 you are able to hit 5000 MB/s with relative ease. I can say the biggest benefit of having the 3.0 is the heat. The SSDs run so much cooler and a lot of them are perfectly fine with out a heatsink. Just about every SSD on the 4.0 needs a heatsink and that has cause a lot of compatibility issue because of the placement of some of the M.2 slot on the motherboards. So while the speeds on the 3.0 aren’t not going to win you any competitions there are still a huge number of users that need drives for that technology. Today we are going to show you all the juicy details on the NM610 brought to us by Lexar!
