Whatever about the process to launch apps faster, using external storage devices for virtual memory? Why? Given the size & speed of modern hard drives, not to mention the increased size & speed of RAM why on earth would you want to use a USB/Firewire (whatever) device for virtual memory? I assume this only applies to laptops & the like where this "might" make some sense, but surely this would be a waste of time for desktops.
