SED displays to be better than CTR, LCD and Plasma displays

This is 1 why I'm sticking with CRT, there's too many issues with other display types. That & CRT just looks better any time I go into electronics stores (Or maybe they just don't calibrate them correctly)

LCD's, TFT's Plasma's etc, don't have the contrast ratio, viewing angle, or colour range of a CRT. to the point that it makes them impossible to use for some graphics, design, or even medical applications. Carbon Nano tube displays supposedly have all the features of a CRT, if not better, but the size of an LCD, if not thinnner, lower power requirements and manufacturing costs. I posted on DV hardware asking if anyone could do a technology and price comparison between SED and CNT/DNT/NED devices, I'd really like to know.

This is nice but what is REALLY impressive is the upcoming OLED technology ... SED seem a good solution in between CRTs and LCDs but the real new comes with OLEDs just to use one of the values ... plasma has around 1-3 lumens per watt SED ~5 OLEDs achieve 60 and even 110 already in its beta state

indeed I would also not go back but CRTs have advantages that TFTs do not have and if those can be combined to one uber display ain't that good :P

iiyama's always been my favourite monitor manufacturer. But the colour visibility problem is a fact on any tft/lcd. it's mainly highlighted when trying to differenciate between very small, or even single pixel areas of colour. hence it's medical implications. oh, I had totally forgotten to mention the native resolution issue!! duh, that's one of the biggest points to regular consumers. carbon nano tube, and SED, don't have single native resolutions like LCD's, everything just works and looks great the same as a CRT.
