LOL, see how the tide turns around so fast... Nvidiots finally release a new driver, and everybody ships on their bandwagon. Nottuin but ATi dissing in these threads I see.

Where are the new Linux drivers at?!

It doesn't cost money, it's just to make sure that the drivers in question are up to the standards they are trying to be certified in. MY GUESS from what I've seen benched of these new drivers is the reason they aren't WHQL is because they are 16FP instead of the 24FP required by Microsoft. It would perfectly explain both the increase in benchmarks without losing effects AND why they haven't been WHQL. (Since they can't be, since the FX runs 24FP slow like molasses. ;) ) I wouldn't be surprised to see a story break somewhere in the near future mocking nVidia for pushing "cinematographic effects with 32FP!" while at the same time using 16FP in their official-but-NEVER-to-be-WHQL drivers. Does anyone else find this amusing? I guess we found out how nVidia is gonna play it, I betcha it's gonna be "Official and DX9 compliablish" drivers from now on from nVidia. Cheesy bastages!

anyone tried them? what kind of speed increases you see?

Yes, it makes me wonder exactly what "they" are trying to accomplish here. Do "they" think that I will listen to their slams and mudslinging to the point of it making me throw out my 9700 pro and getting an FX (hairdryer) ? Will never happen. I don't know what all the fuss is about, I own a boatload of different games and have played many of them on my radeon without even so much as a hint of trouble. I have not tried CS though, probably because I dont much care for it in the first place. I upgraded from a Gforce3 ti 500 to the 9700 pro, the very first thing I noticed was the visual improvement just on the desktop alone. I tried many different color settings and even downloaded add-on proggies to try and get my video to have a better "look" to it with the nvidia card and it always looked kind of bland, before I had bought the ti 500 I owned an older radeon 64 and even it had a better overall appearance than the ti 500 did. To me ati is just a better product, not always the fastest product but still the best. flame on...

Same speed as 43.30's. But they fixed the "effects not showing bug" in 3DMark03 that the 43.30's had. The explosions in the airplane demo weren't showing before.

Let's place bets on the next Nvidia news, who here thinks 'digitalwanderer' will try to add some negativity to it?
data/avatar/default/avatar04.webp
Maybe we could buy him the clue he's missing... ..or maybe he just needs a hug
data/avatar/default/avatar04.webp
That's exactly my point. There isn't many posts about Nvidia that goes by without digitalwanderer ripping into the company.

People, let's give donations and get a WHQL certificate. :D
