Agreed. I havent visited Toms H for a year maybe but I have to agree with this.

Its a good idea.. either that or Nvidia didnt send them a review sample.. hehe.. Another one would be to do a intial testing like always, then a few months later or something redo the tests with the current drivers and put those results next to the initial ones.. sse if there is any improvements in stability, performance, quality or functionality, that sort of things.. But that would be alot of work..

LOL. People leak stuff when its half done because they cant ***** wait, then Nvidia and ATI adopts to that fanboy demand and releases beta drivers en masse but then comes THG and cries about it. As if its ATIs or Nvidias fault... those impatient guys have to be blamed, who always want the new stuff ASAP, even if it means its not finished. ATI and Nvidia only meet the demand.

Tom made his points for a reason. I havent trusted everthing THG has said for a long time, but this doesnt smell of anything bad on his side. ATI/NVidia employ tactics to get the biggest impact with reviewers. Tom is clearly miffed with these tactics and being forced to review things in a manner to his distaste. I say well done to Tom for taking a stance. Please note: Toms statement is about Hardware Reviews. If the official release drivers cannot be used then the product is not fit/ready for review. On the other hand the product you buy does improve with age (new drivers) so Beta drivers could be acknowledged if they impart useful information. This is only one side of what Tom is miffed about, not everything. With the number of review sites around these days, its quite hard to weed the decent articles out. There is too much badly prepared/incorrect work on the web. I'll be looking at THG again after this (his used to be my favourite site).

yeah thats true .... some month / years ago a new GPU popped up and there was so much testing that it started to get annoying ... but for now the test get more and more useless ... like a FSP statistec that compares GF6800 GT vs 6800 Ultra ... LOL very useful now I do know how much faster it is compared to any other card .... try to search some real benchmarks for 6800LE !! is it a good card or not ? you will find no usefull result ...

spot on.. we could use this kind of strategy from more reviewers.
